Recently there were some comments/questions about where the robber mice live. In Georgia’s words, “I decided to pick the comic up right where it left off, because remember–nothing in the comic is going to change! The comic will stay in the Big Pink House; Tommy and Sophie are still just a few blocks away, Tabitha and Sir Figaro are still upstairs, Burt, Baba Mouse, and the Robber Mice are still on the farm through the woods (just follow the stone wall).”This is from The Blue Alpha’s link yesterday.
As I recall, in real life, Georgia wrote that she comforted the Girl after a bad dream by telling her that there were no ghosts in the house. If there had been, Elvis would have eaten them. The Girl realized that she was right and calmed right down. I can’t find it now. I think it was on instagram.
“Air’s fairly still, Meg, you wanna walk the perimeter.?” “No, kitten. I think I’ll stay here and keep my nose sharp for Maxie. You go ahead, but for Cat’s sake be careful.” Megan watched Tre-C trot off, then settled in to her zen-like meatloaf position. After some time had passed, Max crept up to where Megan was meditating. “What did you find out, Maxie?” she said, head down and eyes still closed. “There’s gonna be a couple of “matches” here tomorrow.” Eyes open now; “Details?” “The Callie l spoke with said this guy always has his fights at high noon- something about a movie he saw once. His main dog is a Rottie named Hellboy, but my source said she heard that he has a really big Huskie/Wolf thing someone wanted to try.” “Wanted to try?! What does he think the dog is, an overcoat?”
I saw and posted this last night rather late, so here it is again…happy news on the GoFundMe site Help Save Newton page. Rachel posted an update; Newton is improving and it sure sounds hopeful that a happy end to his misadventure is in sight.
Good morning and happy Bluesday, orbsters and orbabies! I, for one, would not want to find any of H.P. Lovecraft’s creations under my bed; then again, our storage is at a premium, and we have all the a/c attachments plus several lawn chairs under the bed. There’s barely room for a few dust bunnies, never mind monsters.
Okay guys, today’s the big day. I’m having my fifth surgery on my ear. I know some of you already saw my comment from yesterday, but it seemed like I should leave a comment here. I’m writing this, at, what, 5:00? 5:30? It doesn’t matter. This is one of the reasons I like BCN. I can easily relate to Lupin, as both of us have hearing disabilities. Not many other comic strips have hard-of-hearing or deaf characters, some don’t even have characters who are disabled. That’s why I’ve always enjoyed BCN.
Wish me luck!
PS:Thank you to all of those people who commented yesterday, I appreciate it.
Dear Scaeva, I am so sorry that I seemed to off on you Thanksgiving. I should not have gotten on the soapbox unless I was able to spend more time self-editing!
You, and the gentleman you mentioned are the very salt of the earth. My husband also has no desire to worship in an organized church for the very reasons you stated so well. I respect that, but it sure didn’t come out on my keyboard!
Don’t know why I belabored my points, but I did, then we had to leave for our family get-togethers. Was so disgusted with myself that I took a cyber-break until all holiday hullabaloos were over and I could apologize properly.
Wishing you the very best and thanking you for making me hold a mirror to myself!
Hey, Lupin, give Elvis a break, all you’ve read so far is the strongly worded envelope. I’m sure the letter inside is scathing!! and what are you doing to help so far, hmmmmmmmmmm???
OMG!! H. P. LOVECRAFT! “Probably the State House”! :-)Georgia, I think I love you! :-) :-)
We knew about “The Shunned House” and “The Dreams in the Witch House”; even the rats in the walls of Exham Priory, but only the true aficionados know of “The Dream Monster Under The Bed in the Big Pink House”!!
(And I should know – I graduated from Hope High School in Providence, same as HPL).
..and I’m even forgetting “The Strange High House in the Mist” atop the lofty crag north of Kingsport, Mass.; an unusual story in that I like his fantasy stories much less than the horror, but this one is an exception.
“He has never seen Kingsport again, for his family disliked the funny old houses, and complained that the drains were impossibly bad.” :-)
I sure am glad Elvis isn’t my protector, I’d have to wait forever to hear back from politicians. No I don’t think Elvis is scared at all and the look on Lupin’s face doesn’t show any amount of sarcasm either.
Maybe the Robber Mice know a certain California rodent (hear he spends some time in Florida, France and Japan, too) who could get a hold of the CEO of Monsters, Inc?
as a 10 year old I unfortunately read 2 books On the Beach and a paperback titled Level 7. Where we lived, early 60s was in a totally quiet at night small town, IOW I could hear jets flying in the middle of the night, we had a AF base with B52s about 100 miles away. For a few years the slightest noise from jets flying over woke me up. I was having nighmares about a nuclear war. and then of course Cuba had gotten nukes from the USSR. So years later I read how we removed our nukes from Turkey(bordered the USSR) and they removed their nukes from Cuba. Funny thing, we I graduated HS I joined the AF and worked on Nuclear equipped AC for 5 years
I’m new to this strip. I love it. Had the pleasure (or made the mistake) of reading “The Dunwhich Horror” when I was 8. It was winter. Snow on the ground. About 2 a.m., a couple of my neighbours’ cats decided to face off under my window. It woke me from a sound sleep. Thought demons from the veil were coming for me. I just clutched my covers and didn’t breath. Took me what seemed like an eternity to realize what it was. My older brother saved me when he pelted one with a tennis ball. Poor thing stayed on the neighbours porch all day. Gave our yard a wide berth after that. No more demons. Have my own demon now. Russel. He’s a sweetheart, if a little bit of a jerk, sometimes. But, hey. He’s a cat. Gets along great with the Dachsi and our Besenji.
“Newton is home and recovering. He’s still very weak and wobbly, but he’s eating and drinking and even using the litter box! I go in tomorrow to get his electrolytes checked but I can see him improving everyday. He knows who we are and he’s begun to behave like he remembers the house and where things are:). I can’t thank you all enough for your kindness and generosity. He will need a lot of follow ups at the vet and I now don’t have to worry about that. I am so extremely grateful.” :)
. . . BCN! "It’s giving Tuesday, and rather than solicit donations for a new cause (I’m sure many of you have your own favorite causes and charities and have given today already as it is!) I want to take a moment and thank everyone deeply who gave to Newton last week. If you missed it yesterday, there is an update to Newton’s GoFundMe page. Newton is home with his family, and so many of you helped to make that happen!!!
Take a moment, if you’ve got a moment, to look at the donation amounts. So many of them are just between $5-25. It added up so quickly. I think that is amazing; the sheer amount of folks who stepped forward to give what they could, and how quickly that came together when there were enough people who wanted to help.
And so, happy Giving Tuesday! You made a difference for one sweet little fuzzy fighter and his family! Thank you so dearly for the good you did last week for Newton. ❤️❤️❤️"

Then, go to the “little heart” in the far upper right corner! “CLICK” on that, so you can “send your love” to Newton!Thank-you for bearing with me thru all this! Perhaps, this group’s “TLC” saved a little life? GREAT JOB! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ O:)

Count on Elvis to write a VERY STRONGLY WORDED letter, instead of actually going under the bed to clear out the monsters!

Toddler is safe now. Mommy and Puck are there and Elvis and Lupin are ready to stand guard.

Letters are nice, but the phone is much more direct to get action. So I have one question:
Who ya gonna call, Elvis?

Gotta agree with Elvis on this one. Besides, something must be done to defeat the monster.

IMHO, any cat that can reference HP Lovecraft is a cat to be reckoned with! Fair warning, ye monsters!

Right on, Elvis. If you’re going to write a letter to the Powers That Be, it needs to be strongly worded.

There’s something under the bed.
Just what it is cannot be said.
But Elvis is very intent
His no-nonsense letter is soon to be sent.
I think it’s time to stop, monsters everywhere,
A strongly worded letter, you’d best beware!
