Rat forgot Frosty’s top hat, his corn cob pipe, his button nose, and two eyes made out of coal ( now try to get that song out of your head anytime today ).
Just keep adding more snow. You will create a localized glacial micro-climate and eventually an ice age that will catastrophically cool the entire globe. Moving all that water into the upper atmosphere to cool it to make the snow, and moving it far enough inland to put it where you want it, will take a lot of thermal energy, though. So you’re sort of in a Catch-22 situation. You can’t have cooling until you’ve had your warming.
“If you don’t get yer heat, you can’t have any icing. How can you have any icing if you don’t get yer heat?”
Now see, this perpetuates the general misunderstanding about global climate change. It’s not “global warming” (although that tag seems to have attached like a bad tick). In the summer, the carbon build-up traps sunlight and makes it hotter. But in the winter, that same carbon prevents sunlight from reaching the earth properly and can actually make it COLDER. Definitely a 2-edged sword. What it does most of all though, is melt icebergs (because the summers are hotter), and worst-case changes the ocean current, causing ecological disaster. Disasters such as increased hurricane count and intensity, tidal waves, not to mention skin cancer and premature aging. And best of all: we’re already past the point of no return! Even if we completely stopped carbon emissions at this point, it would take decades for the Earth to clean itself. But those holes in the ozone layer… a bit more tricky.Mankind: the most intelligent species to ever endanger the very planet we live on.And I’m just telling the basic truth; I’m not even an “environmentalist”. Some of us however, can see the gigantic writing on the big, huge flippin’ wall.
Not relevant to today but…I just read Sundays strip. My deepest condolences. Having gone thru the same thing, and knowing your ireverent sense of humor, I kept waiting for a shoe to drop and wondering if I would have to abandon my favorite strip. I feel for you brother.
