No fun to see a loved one suffer. And john has a mindset that elly could care less about. Sometimes wives have no sense of humor, especially when they’re in pain.

Aspirin. Aspirin spray, light cotton sheets and room-temp water poured on … some aloe lotion, though some stuff seems “thick” and it hurts to spread it over a burn. Body Series Rain Shower by Amway is my favorite - light, easy to put on, smells nice and smooth. I use it for after shave lotion each day. Did I mention that I sell it, too? LOL.

Best thing after a burn is a paste of baking soda.

Better get something with aloe and vitamin e in it! The longer the skin has to ‘tighten’ the worse it’ll feel!!

I agree wholeheartedly with Fishstix, Ji2M, and ssejhill If that doesn’t appeal to you then try iced tea. Takes the burn right out.

Despite his usual faults, I never would have suspected John of being a cannibal.

I had a friend who, about 25 years ago, was on vacation in Miami and fell asleep on the beach (during the day). When he woke up, he was literally beet red (1st and 2nd degree burns). And he was fair-skinned to begin with. Hospitalized for 4 days, and he was told 2 things: You will never tan again, and you are now prone to skin cancer at any time. Haven’t talked to him for about 5 years (I moved to the Midwest and we lost track of each other), but he was always scared about being in the sun after that. I need to find him and see if he’s still OK.

That’s right, rugratz2222. As I tell my husband sometimes, “it’s all about timing”. John’s joke would’ve been funnier when she’s not in so much pain.

I have fair haired friends who took their 2 year old to Hawaii, many years ago before sunscreen was popular. On day two everyone was giving them advice on where Aloe grew wild and how they should wrap her in it.

I once 2d degree burned some toddlers I had put to nap in the shade of a big tree. I was young and dumb, of course the shade moved before they woke up. I learned a valuable lesson that day and had to deal with upset parents and blistered toddlers for a few weeks.

Actually believe it or not cold mustard helps a bad sun burn. I once got burned so bad I had sun poisoning and was desperate for relief when I read about putting mustard on the burn. I did and immediately the pain went away and the next day the blisters started to disappear.
