According to Miss Manners, if you attack your driver’s home, a sizable gratuity is in order.

You must’ve read the children’s version. It was scheduled for demolition.

Reminds me of a very short Sci-Fi story from long ago. Can’t recall the author. The space scouts do a recon of Earth. They return to their mothership and report that Earth is unsuitable for conquest and occupation. When asked why, the scout replied, “Because they test nuclear weapons in their atmosphere!”

Take him. He’s the kind who make invasions fail.

Now why would they invade a populated planet? There are billions that have no inhabitants that they could find whatever they need unless they are genocidal paranoiacs. Then Earth should be afraid of letting them know we exist. It is the antidote to the Fermi Paradox called the “Dark Forest Hypothesis” where any who are there are hiding in fear of such a species might exist.

This hypothesis is explained very well near the end of the science fiction novel, The Dark Forest by Liu Cixin. The first axiom is that survival is the primary need of civilization. Therefore, civilizations will do whatever it takes to ensure their own survival. The second axiom is that civilizations always grow and expand, but the amount of matter and resources in the universe are finite. (Just like on our own planet where infinite growth is a dangerous fallacy that rules current thinking.)
