I keep thinking what we need is to make ourselves as invisible as possible.

Kurt Waldheim, then Secretary General of the U.N., recorded a greeting for aliens on the phonograph record the Pioneer probe was carrying. Waldheim was later found to have served as an officer in the Abwehr, a Nazi intelligence service. Because of this he was banned from entering the U.S.. What would aliens think of this grim joke?
