Well, the outline of the head looks vaguely like Wally, but his dittos would just poof! away the paint, as we saw in the laundry. Wally might grab Chic and drag him away if he saw those messages, but toward the sea?
Plus Duff was obviously prepared for an invisible agent. So not Wally. Because Wally would not do something that led to a missing Benny.
I went back to the scenes with Marx’s ship. The Lucranian letters look nothing like a Roman alphabet, whereas the messages we saw on the beach did look like a Roman alphabet. So, something interesting is here.
It wasn’t that long ago that we were in an episode of “Leave it to Beaver”. Now here we are again in the mystery and excitement. What a wonderful story!
1) I’m pretty sure we can rule out that this is some kind of prank perpretrated by Duffy and friends. 2) Duffy did come prepared this time (and he might still have use for the rope I’d guessed at). 3) Liking Duffy more as this goes on. 4) I don’t think paint would work on dittos, since they seem to work more as illusionists (they can even confound radar and video feeds). If you paint whatever they are “cloaking”, they’d just cloak the paint, too.
I think Duffy is legit in wanting to solve a mystery and, by testing Chic, has found someone with the strength of will to survive the encounter. Duffy was not picking on Chic JUST to bully him/give him a hard time like a jerk. Even though Chic is terrified, he did not back down, he did not run away, he did not faint. I’m not sure if I agree with Duffy in not telling Chic what they needed him for. Would Chic have freaked out more if he knew there was something out there, invisible, that would grab him – thus giving him more time to panic? Or is not knowing what to expect better?
Might I suggest that Mr. Neathery move his ‘display’ days to TThS instead of MWF. It’s after midnight, Wednesday’s cartoons are gone and Thursday’s cartoons from the other cartoonists have appeared, and his is the only one from Wednesday still not showing. At least if he moved it, they’d show up in my email pages instead of not showing up at all.

Ohhhh boy. That look on his face may mean he recognizes this thing. On the off chance that’s Sarah his situation went from bad to worse.

I think I saw this once on Jonny Quest. It was cooler. They had rocket packs.

Looks humanoid, could it be Aaron? Or a topsider with cloaking technology? Though I’m guessing if it were the latter Chic would have been KOS.

It seems that chic knows who he is seeing. He wouldn’t be as frightened if he didn’t know who or what it was.
