Finally the answer to a question we’ve all been pondering since the first coffee cup appeared on the BCN anchor desk! They are drinking CAT coffee, not PEOPLE coffee! Thank you Lupin for solving this mystery for us.
On the rare occasions when I can’t get my morning coffee, I realize that I don’t actually need it. Caffeine doesn’t seem to affect me one way or the other. But there is a subtle sense of something missing without my two cups. And Biscoff cookies just aren’t the same without it. It’s nice to make some Turkish coffee after supper, too.
Now that we know there’s a special Kat Koffee, I want to know what kind of coffee maker they use.
Okay, I don’t get Olch? is this someone I should know? I googled and came up with a director, fashion designer, & a doctor. Georgia, can you explain, please?!
Is the Woman getting set to watch a murder mystery marathon on the sofa, wrapped in a fuzzy blanket, surrounded by her kitties and children? Or is she just saying, “I can’t function without my coffee”?
I get to the Office about 5:15 a.m.. I am in Purchasing and I find a couple of hours of peace and quiet before the phones start ringing a great time to answer emails and go over reports.
I make the coffee for the Office. And what is funny, on the occasions when I take a day off, I come back in and it looks like there was a tempest in the coffee area. These people certainly like coffee, but are overwhelmed if it is not ready for them.
I am their coffee god. Look upon me, ye mighty and despair. For I control your caffeine! Bwaa ha ha ha!
Since being AFK, I’ve heard there are folks needing uplifting and boop-a-thons. (Thanks to Lady Bri for keeping me in the loop! ♥)
Jimm Jonzz!!! Magpie27!!! Pucky!!! Who else am I missing? Loving and heartfelt prayers, purrs and paw power dear ones!!! Just ‘cause I need to check out more often doesn’t put a dent in my love and concern for each and every orbster and orbaby.
Tea is my mainstay… Start the day with Lapsang Souchong or Irish Breakfast, Earl Grey or Pu Erh in the evening. (Lipton at work during the day, since that’s what they buy for the “coffee stations”.) I buy every few months from English Tea Leaves – a small tea shop owned by British expats who do their own importing & blending; been buying from them for 15+ years now. (find them at https://www.englishtealeaves.com )
Silver (the House Varmint) will even try to sneak sips of iced tea from my glass!
I never even noticed little Beatrix in the second panel. But then it was midnight when I read this for the first time. That’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it.
Anybody else out there who is planning on taking the Jeopardy online test? I took it last night and think I did well. If it’s not too much trouble, could I ask for positive energy from the Orb? I have passed the online test and been selected for the in-person interview several times but have never made the random selection to be on the show. It has been my dream for many years (over half of my lifetime), since trivia seems to be my only talent. I’d be happy just to have the experience, even if I didn’t win. Not sure how much longer I can carry on before the brain starts to deteriorate, so if you can spare a positive thought for me to make it all the way through this time, I’d be so, so grateful. And of course, I send the same to any other Orbsters who are trying to become Jeopardy contestants! Thanks and have a fantastic day!
I work for a healthcare company with people who are trained to calmly react to any emergency, whether it be someone suddenly spouting blood from whatever bodily orifice or a patient’s spouse screaming about a broken infusion pump. The one time I have ever seen mass panic in this office was when we ran out of coffee. I now keep a bag of coffee in my desk in case it is ever needed again to hold us over between deliveries.
In a couple of weeks I’m going on a cruise for my birthday . (I’m turning a milestone age …..just don’t ask which one . ) So it should be a LOT of fun! I’ve been on cruises before & love them!
Coffee. Black with high amounts of caffeine. No matter how sleepy you might be, it wakes you up. Best I have discovered to date is a brand called Tip of the Andes, not at all bitter, lots of caffeine, and not as expensive as many other brands
Thinking about what Georgia and Ryan have been dealing with the past couple of weeks – first Elvis really did leave the building, and now Pucky is dealing with that pesky hairball. Here’s hoping Lupin and Goldie stay inside and safe and healthy healthy too!
Have never liked the smell of coffee, and tea does nothing for me. chemo made me dislike water and milk. I could only drink Gatorade and now hope I will never have to drink it ever again!
I’m bi-caffeinated; I really want that first double espresso of the morning before my commute (and the world is safer too), although I can skip it if needs must, for fasting blood work, etc.. While I’m at work I tend to stick with herbal or cinnamon-spice tea. I didn’t like coffee at all until I was stationed in Germany; while I was there I discovered that it can actually taste just as good as it smells if it is freshly roasted to the proper degree. If you also grind it just before you make your brew, it’s fantastic stuff.
He’s home from Auburn now and seems to be feeling better, but it’s official – he’s no longer responding to the conventional treatment, so it’s time to try a newer therapy. As our vet here at home said, he clearly hasn’t read the book when it comes to the treatment protocols. Fingers crossed that the new treatment will work better for him.
No, not like that. Those gizmos never work anyway.
No, I’m talking about milking the cats in the morning. When I have my coffee. See, we have this surpeeno cool espresso machine that does EVERYTHING. It slices, it dices and it milks the cats. No, not really. It has this frothing thing that automatically sucks up milk through a tube from the jug. It either heats it or it foams it.
I make myself 1 cup of coffee a day. That’s it. No more. Now, that 1 cup happens to be a sextuplet espresso latte with sugar, cocoa power and cinnamon, but it is just 1 cup. See, I don’t have a problem.
Anyway, when Louis and Clark were still kittens they were fascinated by all the grindy gurgly hissing noises coming from the machine. They would jump up on the counter and watch intently. One morning as I was pulling the tube out of the jug I decided to hold the end and keep the milk in, just like a straw.
I let the milk drain out onto the counter for the boys and bingo, a tradition was born. Milking the cats.
Well, Louis grew out of it over time and Clark made it a sometimes event. But then, Lupin and Elvis came in, and Lupin followed Clark onto the counter one morning. We had an instant convert and cat milking became a daily event again. Elvis never figured it out and never got on the counter at the right time.
Enter the 3 new kittens. Tommie caught on about a month ago and is very insistent every time I go near the coffee machine. 2 weeks ago, Bandit found the mother load and she too is a coffee machine watcher.
Clark still comes up once in a while but Lupin is tapering off. I have no idea why. Most of the cats turn their noses up at milk unless they are really hungry. We shall see if it is a kitten thing.
Thank you, everyone, for all the messages of support. They really helped! Here’s my report.
The worst, most painful and most nauseating part of a colonoscopy is the preparation. They removed seven polyps.
The root canal didn’t get started (it’ll be about 4 weeks away) because the dental office got slammed with several emergencies. He spent half an hour adjusting my dentures, so Easter dinner will be more fun than Christmas was. My tension wasn’t too bad at any point because I took “Lupin Leaps In”.
At the hospital they gave me a purple armband to indicate I had a wheelchair. It said “Cat #624…”. I wondered how they knew!
I just want to thank everyone for the good Jeopardy wishes! I can see that if I try to thank everyone individually on this site, I will be bounced all over and lose track of who is where and what they said and what I said, so just know that ALL positive energy is appreciated! If I get chosen for the in-person test, I’ll be sure to let you all know (I chose Savannah for my test city this time because I’ve never been there).
I just found this video on YouTube. Considering that we have an orbster that cares for a blind snake, I thought it would interest at least some of the orb.

The Woman looked for coffee beans
She looked for quite a time
Then Lupin checked the Koffee Kan
It seemed like such a crime.
…….
The can was empty of Koffee beans, nothing to brew up
The can was empty of Koffee beans, nothing to brew up
The can was empty of Koffee beans, nothing to brew up
The can was empty of Koffee beans, went to Elvis, called him up
…….
He said “Elvis, we have no more Koffee beans”
Oh no, Elvis we have no more Koffee beans!
Oh no, Elvis we have no more Koffee beans!
Elvis said, “Now let me get this straight!”
…….
We have no more Koffee beans
The Woman lacks them, too
We have no more Koffee beans
Whatever can we do?
We have no more Koffee beans,
We have a situation!
…….
Bea said, “We’ll order more Koffee beans”
And brew them all together
Order more Koffee beans,
And we’ll all feel better,
Order more Koffee beans,
They’ll get here in the morning!
…….
When they get here in the morning, we’ll know just what to do
When they get here in the morning, we’ll know just what to do
When they get here in the morning, we’ll know just what to do
When they get here in the morning, we’ll know just what to do!
