Well if it didn’t, they wouldn’t have gotten started in the first place.

I see that the gene engineers created pseudo dimetrodons which are not dinosaurs and came before them. Different from the Spinosaurs egypticus which was a true dinosaur. Though the one in JP was their version not anything like the original.
