The writer who retreats today lives to write another day.

Can we actually have this please? I feel like participating.

Excellent visualization as usual from Pastis. Great strip.

Goat, if you want to be a writer, you should be aware words have several meanings.

Is panel 2 Pig’s visualization of Writers Retreat? Or is it Goat’s recollection?

Pig should have gone, too, he’s so literal.

Ironically, Goat paid for the retreat with his charge card.

Writing a novel is a marathon, not a sprint.

I wonder what it is that they’re retreating from?

Writing is too hard because you gotta get food on your plate, a shelter on your head, and some clothes on your body. Writing doesn’t pay.

Was the retreat led by G.R.R. Martin?

Yes, writing is hard, discouraging, painful and emotionally draining. However, NOT writing is even worse (for a writer).

GOAT is confused, maybe we have too many stupid shows of nonsense, and “scripted” reality shows……UGH! Writers are burned out and out of ideas….

For most of us writers, writing is fun. It’s the business that is hard.

Pelosi, Trump, and all 2020 presidential candidates are looking for a new social media writer who could make them appear younger, smarter, and connected to the constituents than the actual 1% that Pelosi, Trump and all presidential candidates are connected.

Not only is writing hard, but the odds of making a good living are approximately the same odds that a little kid has at birth… of becoming another Lew Alcindor, John Denver or President.

I can relate. I’ve done a good bit of writing over the years, and it’s a lot harder than it seems. With determination, though, the end result can be awesome. Don’t give up, Goat!

Also, seems like we haven’t seen Zebra (or the Crocs) here in quite some time …
