As I’ve endlessly said in other comic strips that mentions dogs, I never grew up with one; just cats.

What do you guys think Moe is trying to express in panel 2?

The only pet my dad would allow was a Parakeet. ;-)

Still no sign of the orange kitten that apparently hadn’t been adopted along with its siblings.

For the second time, these two lads come to a point where they realize they have something in common.

Maybe bonding will STICK this time and these lads FINALLY bury the hatchet. And It would be interesting if the Guys decide to find out MORE about their REAL dads.

Or the conversation could turn toward women. Now that Bets is firmly in Gunny’s campus there’s no reason for him to be protective or jealous over Les’ interest in Tiffany. It’s practically a “Green Light” for Mr. Knox.

The only thing that would stop him is Tiffany. IF she has any SENSE………., ;)

They think they have something in common, but they are day-dreaming about pets that are exact opposites…

I would have thought Irma would get Gunther a pet if he had wanted one.

Big snakes are not easy to care for. I don’t think Les would have been up to the task.

Last year the kids were hitting the Monster Truck Rally. This year they’re petting cute little kittens. Who knows, at this rate, next year someone will be getting an AARP magazine subscription.

At the arcamax site, Les’s “kittie” is orange, not gray.

All that cat hair brought the boys closer together??

Pets I had as a kid (in order of appearance) ……Box turtle, Garter Snake (s), Horned Lizard, Anole, Parrot (I hand-trained), Iguana. We had lots of family dogs and cats over the years. Today I near 60 years old and have 2 Chihuahuas, a Blue Heeler and one B/W female cat. Lots of animals out there who need homes, so do what you can.

Moe says “Yuck” to the boys’ idea of pets. He’d eat the bird and put the snake into a knot.

I think Moe is getting ready to barf at all this.

Young Leslie somewhat resembles a young Bob Hope. Bob Hope’s real name was Leslie Townes Hope. Coincidence?

Weird how both of them had their hair pinned back behind their ears when they were little.

Yesterday, I mentioned that Moe had powers. Today, he made a sheet of paper appear out of thin air with Greg’s name on it. (see last panel)

We had dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rats, rabbits, chameleons, parakeets and us 4 girls. Chaos!

I guess they have more in common than I thought: both of them button their shirts up to the very top. I would have thought that Les at least would go wild and keep the top button open…

A bird yes, but not a snake! Me and my cousin have a childhood fear those “serpents of Satan”.

I like the gray kitten is there a problem with it staying that way huh?

My parents had lots of pets, my brother and I weren’t interested. Still not interested, just another PITA!

So Moe now has two expressions. Perhaps, sometime in the future, he’ll raise an eyebrow to express distain. :o)

If not “bonding,” are we seeing a measure of detente forming between Les and Gun (Ugh! That name,).

I do not enjoy either of these characters. Too much time is spent on their arcs.

Arcamax has both an orange and a red orange kitten. The red orange kitten is gray in Go Comics. The orange kitten is missing from both Arcamax and Go Comics.

Every child should have a pet. Even a python can be a great friend. They will end adopting one of the kitty?

So which of the four fuzz balls are the boys going to take back to the gulag with them?

Weird doesn’t begin to describe these two…

I sense some double entrede in this.

Me either no pets but I moved in with my to be hubby and got him, a dog and 7 cats I loved it.

They are both far more lucky, IMO, to have those kittens…. rather than a magician’s pigeon or a snake….. so at least in terms of full-filling their “aspirations”, Ma Berger did a good thing. :)

Other than very short-lived goldfish, we had pets only twice when I was young: a dog when I was an infant that my mother said used to ride with me in my stroller, which was lost, probably stolen; and then a high-strung cocker spaniel given as a gift to me by my uncle when I was eight or nine that hated me and made a lifetime mission of trying to bite me (we eventually had to give it away). —I had always wanted a collie like the very friendly one a neighbor had about the same time the cocker spaniel arrived on the scene, but that was never to be….
