Not sure if it’s the tea, the fuzzy blanket, or being surrounded by her boys, but the woman seems to look a little bit younger in each panel.
I’m wondering if Georgia has changed her color palette a bit. The big red couch is looking a bit more pink than red. Or maybe it’s just a necessary change so that it looks good in both color and gray-scale.
Thanks for all the caring yesterday, folks! We’ve decided to support with meds and watch to see if he stops drinking. I was able to sense he was not well last week and I feel I’ll know when the time is right to help him unless of course he passes in his sleep. much love from NH
I am one less fur baby this week. Pixie-girl the pug has at age 14 went over the rainbow bridge over the weekend. It didn’t have anything to do with that car hit that I experience. She didn’t even get a bump from that. So my lap cuddles are Ally (profile picture) and her big sister house panther Lexus. Oh the court for the kid who hit me was yesterday and adjourned two more weeks. My summer was the worse I swear. I did get a tattoo yesterday. Yin yang dragonfly representing calm, balance and acceptance. I also got Pixies’ name put on it.
So sorry to hear about Pixie, but hoping Ally and Lexus can ease your heart. I love the tattoo idea and hope that the legal wrangles are soon resolved so you can move onward.
A nice comfy picture. Yum Yum decided to be a leg cat last night and spent her time sleeping on either Paul’s legs or mine. It would have been fine had I been able to sleep, but since I was having one of my rare bouts of insomnia, well…..
I don’t know if it’s been addressed here, but Saturday evening the Seattle area got a once-in-25+ years thunderboomer storm. For 5 hours, the area averaged 440 lightning strikes per hour, to go with torrential rain. It caused the WA state fair to close early and cancel the evening concert. 2 hr, 20 minute delay in the UW’s football game. My lady was driving us back from Port Townsend via the Tacoma Narrows Bridge—just a bit after crossing it we were under the storm. Two-three inches deep on I-5 the water was.
I understand that thunderstorms, even of this magnitude, aren’t that rare many places, but they very much are in the Puget Sound area—our clouds rarely stack up high enough for such weather. I hope the boys and Goldie weren’t terrified by all the booming.
This last Sunday’s Heart of the City ( https://www.gocomics.com/heartofthecity/2019/09/08?ct=v&cti=1963481 ) was a tribute to Rutger Hauer. This made me want to watch Ladyhawke again (since it’s the only one of his movies I have in my collection so far), so I did just that last night. It’s still a good movie and I really enjoyed it.
Driving around farm country this afternoon, I thought about the hard and too often short life of a barn cat. We passed two roadkill kitties and when almost home had another cat run across the road right in front of us…safely, as we braked, thank goodness. Too many working cats have no time for snuggles on a fuzzy blanket. Makes me thankful we are able to give a home to our two kitties and also for those of you who do such good work with feral cats and foundling kittens.
It’s strips like this one that inspired the email I send to people with a room for rent on Craigslist: I just want a quiet place to work with my cat on my feet.

The circulation in her legs is optional, of course.

Is it cold where the woman is? I’ve heard of a three dog night but I assume cat would be lighter.

Yes, a book and a fireplace might be nice. Hey Man, note that you’re optional. :-)

The evening would be even better if there were a certain “gigantic” ginger cat laying down on the blanket too!

I see Elvis has his reading glasses with him. It doesn’t look as though he’s reading anything right now, though.

Kiki has yet to get in my lap. Yet.
I has just made a sharp turn towards fall here, but it’s still good and warm in the house.
We’ll see what happens when things start cooling off. She might become a cuddler yet!

A generous layer of cats is always good. Not necessarily comfortable but always good, especially when purring.
