Well, that was the nail in the coffin: No post Zebo or Tara angst.
I’m staking the ground that Luann ought to have staked last week.
Just as Tara’s art was trash, so was Zebo’s lesson to Luann. If there was a lesson at all.
If I were Luann, what I saw was, “You don’t know anything. You certainly don’t know an A from an F. Moreover, whatever you say, I will say just the opposite. So there.”
Mercifully, we are not wading through the rest of that this week.
And yet, I feel for the girl. I mean, what other perception can she have than that she was just dumped on by both her instructor and her f®iend.
Well, at least his fans will be happy. Curious, though. He was “bonding” with that one kitten, “Punk.” So why is he frowning now?
Now all he needs now is a certain young woman to show up, and My esteem colleagues will fall all over themselves declaring what a “swell guy,” he is, caring for cute little kittens.
Unless, Les puts the kittens in Gunny’s room and they SHRED Tiffany’s last garments that were about to be put up for sale on eBay.
Zebo might have completely missed that Tara was mocking him, and marked her down for merely imitating him instead of thinking for herself. And the A-F seesaw that he put Luann through was similarly to try and prod her into thinking for herself. The problem was, she wasn’t really thinking about what her criteria for grading was, just reacting emotionally.
Yes, learning that you’re being an airhead hurts. But the answer is to start thinking, not give up.
Besides, being TA had started to go to Luann’s head. She needed to regain some humility about how much she still needs to learn about teaching.
Because, let’s face it, where this strip is probably going is Luann becoming a teacher. That way the Evanses can keep the high school thing going no matter how old Luann gets. And Bernice will wind up the counselor there, and Knute’s already a janitor at Pitts.
Hope you all felt that that last arc didn’t need any follow-up, because the next time we see Luann and Tara you can bet your bottom dollar that her failing grade won’t be mentioned.
This fall: enjoy a spin-off of josie and pussycats with this zany new show; Les and the Pussycats. Watch as Les and gunther embark on hilarious misadventures with a box of cute little kittens.
Well I would have liked a resolution of the Tara, Zebo, Luann arc with the cliff hanger of what will happen now that Luann has been put in the position of having to make a choice, and deal with the consequences by both Zebo, and Tara, each in their own way. Sigh. Today it was a bit presumptuous for AL and Irma to dump the kittens with Les, even if Gunther is not there. Les may feel that he is put upon, and we can debate whether he should or not. That is my interpretation, along with the kittens waking up as soon as they leave. Unhappy hilarity kinda ensues.
Sometimes I have like a vague and tiny bit impression that Irma takes others for granted. But Les’s “Grumpy cat” expression is priceless. The kittens love him♡
Hmm. I tend to think the kittens are old enough and developed enough that they could have been left at home for the hour or so that it takes for Moe’s health check. I would have thought by now, that Irma and Al would have a room that has been “kitten-proofed” for them to be in when they were not able to supervise their actions.
And, I guess I was mistaken in that it seemed the dynamic duo (Gunther and Al) had the kittens before… so what is up with this…. they just get carted in the box back and forth? And, what about Punk? It seemed that Punk had been becoming a potential roommate for the dynamic duo?
Also…. with Gunther gone…. that is the most interesting aspect of what we see today. It appears (fingers crossed) that we will have a story week that focuses on Les instead of the dynamic duo together as Unger/Madison clones. That is probably the best part of what I see today. It would have been just as ok to have had it be Gunther alone, and Les gone…. but either is bound to be an improvement over the two together. :)
This segue back to (apparently) Les and his relationship with kittens may be some sort of watershed episode for him. It isn’t out of the question for a sequence with Les interaction with only the kittens. I wonder if he’ll name any others beside Punk? Mordy has opined that another person may appear at the Gulag’s door. Who that person might be has delicious and exciting opportunities.
We could be back to a Gunther and Bets relationship development episode. Is the Gunther-Bets relationship settled for now? Are there to be no ‘Prop Room In The Dark’ episodes ala Luann and Quill in the offing? BTW. I’m glad we haven’t heard Bets call him Gun(ugh!) again.
Luann the TA has been put on back burner. It could resume as a Luann Tara relationship strip or something completely different. Like another Zébo-Luann lesson.
Tiffany’s woes have been skipped over for this week – unless she shows up at the Gulag. That would be interesting.
Why didn’t just one of them take the cat to the vet and the other could have stayed home with the kittens? There was no need to dump the kittens on Les (except for the presumable ensuing hilarity).
If you’re the kind of person too paranoid to leave some cats unattended in your house for a couple hours, you probably shouldn’t have cats at all. They’re not human babies; they can look after themselves.
It seems like rather a d!ck move to get cats only to dump them on someone else every time you leave the house.
