A kegerator reduces the cost of the beer and leaves no piles of empty beer cans around. You do have to find a way to wash glasses so your budget doesn’t get wiped out by plastic cups.
Actually Eno, there was a study done back in the 60s that proved that one beer has the same nutritional value as a pork chop. So you should be safe with the beer.
