I worked in the mail room briefly. We called it “IT”, and it was email, but very similar jobs, really, when you think about it. Right down to the part where the boss gets to ask you to do non-standard jobs and you pretty much have to. One of them demanded that his emails be delivered on paper (to his assistant) so they would be easier to file. I moved on to more useful tasks before that was fully resolved.
