For those who never heard of seitan, usually made from wheat gluten has been used as a meat substitute in China since the 6th century, and is the main ingredient of veggie burgers.

Seitan is lacking in fiber. I prefer tempeh, which has fiber and is also a probiotic.

I’m by no means a vegetarian, but in hot weather I can enjoy a salad for dinner, with chopped-up tempeh added to provide protein.

This cartoon, no doubt, salutes the meat dress Lady GaGa wore to some event or other back then.

There are probably people out there who dream of being eaten by lions. It’s hard to imagine any kind of weirdness that doesn’t already exist somewhere.

I read that zoos get offers from people who want to donate their bodies (not while they’re still alive, but after they’ve expired from other causes) to be fed to animals. No zoo that I know of accepts these offers. They feed their animals high-quality diets, not just any old carcass, that might be diseased or poisoned or parasite-ridden. Also, most of the animals eat their rations in public view, and consumption of human cadavers would be … unsightly? Besides, the zookeepers don’t really want to encourage the carnivores to develop a taste for “long pig.”
