Where I work, I get 28 vacation days—or, rather, 224 hours, which I can take in increments as little as one hour. As far as I know, there is no restriction on how much time you can take at once, I usually take a week at a time, but I’ve seen folk take two weeks at once. AND you only have to give 24 hours notice. The only restriction is that the time doesn’t carry over to the next year. You can’t build up weeks and weeks of vacation time, that is. You can carry over up to 40 hours to the next year, but it has to be taken by March 15 of that next year, or it simply vanishes. And if you have more than 40 hours NOT taken at the end of the year, anything over 40 hours goes away at year’s end.

The wizard could probably use a little sun tan oil as long as he’s at it.

Vacation time is a terrible thing to waste. Though, I am thinking snow burn is a bit overboard.

You must be going on some work fiscal year. For most places, it is Jan. 2 and too late.

To be honest, though, being Wizard is not a job, it’s a playground.

If he stays out there in the snow long enough, he will need to use up all of his sick days!
