Look at he baby she is having the time of her life running everywhere, then look at poor Puckys eyes with a worried look. Mom and dad are going to have a great time with this little spitfire. Watch out for your tails boys,
Happy New Year to all BCN readers! Best advice I ever got in my 60+ years on this planet: All we have is today. Yesterday is done and tomorrow is only a vision. Do your best to be your best for TODAY and the rest will work out fine. Be happy, healthy and safe, my friends!
Happy New/Mew Year’s Eve, everyone. I don’t know what your plans are, but Paul and I will probably be in bed around 9PM, and get up next year to mimosas and whatever celebratory breakfast I decide to make. Yum Yum, of course, will be getting her little nose into everything, and putting in her two cents’ worth whenever she has the opportunity.
Looks like January is arriving here more like March, very gray and windy today, and our little heat wave has skipped town. No big celebration here, I will continue my tradition of watching New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, haven’t missed one yet (what I miss is Dick Clark) while Partner falls asleep long before midnight. I fervently wish for a much happier, healthier, safer year for all of you and your loved ones, hooman and otherwise. We can do this, one day at a time. I love you all, celebrate safely!
Tracking says my new display will be here by tonight. Just as well, as it keeps going black on me, staying that way for 2 to 20 seconds, then turning back on. Can’t fault the equipment. When I looked it up, this display is around nine years old, so I got my money’s worth, I think.
Luckily Puck is an excellent climber! I’m assuming that Lupin will feel the vibrations and be able to join in the fun or escape as needed! Not sure about Elvis, though?
Happy New Year to the Orb. I remember sitting in grade school and the teacher showing us what are age would be in the 2000’s. 2020 seemed so far away then….
Baby 2.0 always finds the holes OG Baby never found…so it is written, so it will be. (Also, Happy Totally Arbitrary Measurement of the Year! https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=2275407909152085 )
Ah, it’s finally time to change the calendar here. We’re officially in 2020 now. I don’t see the promised flying cars yet, but I’ll wait. Happy New 2020 CE, folks.
I want to know where Elvis is during all of this. I thought he might be cheering the Baby on. It is of course possible that now the Baby is mobile his love affair is cooling.
Come to think of it, I wonder why their previous baby didn’t teach them everything they needed to know about babyproofing? Of course, each kid (and cat) is unique and perhaps their son didn’t go from 0 to 60 like his little sis?
Thank you Georgia for the wonderful Breaking Cats News. Happy New Year to everyone, whether 2019 was good or bad for you, may 2020 be a hundred times better.
Follow up to my post from yesterday, as requested by Granny Roberta. Our cat that passed on 12/29 was named Minkus by the shelter where we got him and I liked it, so it stayed – I googled the name once because so many people asked about, I believe it is the last name of a minor 18th century composer. He was a half Maine Coon and that’s all we know. We adopted him when he was 8 weeks old and 1 month after 9/11 (easy to remember his age). Our kids were 5 and 3 at the time, and he was absolutely patient with both of them (the then 5 is autistic but loves animals). He quickly formed a bond with our daughter (the 3). He loved hanging out in her room, no matter what she was doing – the only time he ever wanted out of her room was when she dressed him in Build-A-Bear clothes. An hour later he was back in her room looking for attention. In Dec 2005 when we were in the middle of a move to Hawaii, he got outside at my MIL’s and lived in a culvert for 2 weeks. My daughter was devastated when Santa didn’t bring her buddy to her for Christmas – it was all she wanted. Luckily, a neighbor was able to catch him and he flew by himself to HI instead of with his feline and human sister. He was a trooper – he moved three times (military family), outlived to feline sisters, and had an amazing personality. He was just a good boy. About three years ago right before the girl child left for college we noticed he was losing weight. It took a couple of months but his thyroid level finally showed what our vet suspected was going on – hyperthyroidism. At that point he was 15 and we were leary of the radiated iodine treatment for him and did meds twice a day. He would maintain his weight for a bit, then get a little worse. His health had been a roller coaster the last two months. We had hoped he would be able to make it to next week.

Ain’t no stoppin’ her now!
She’s on the move!
Ain’t no stoppin her now!
She’s got something to prove!
She’d been very happy staying on the ground
But now seems happier finally runnin’ around
We know she’s got a long, fun way to go
And how many things’ll be wrecked, we don’t know
But she won’t let nothin’ hold her back
She’s got her act together
She’s on a gleeful destructive track!
If we felt she’s been slow to walk before
We now know she’ll refuse to just crawl anymore!
She won’t let nothing, nothing
Stand in her way!
We want y’all to listen, listen
To every word we say, and get out of her way!
Ain’t no stoppin her now!
She’s on the move!
Ain’t no stoppin her now!
She’s in her groove!
(And no one and nothing is safe. HA HA HA!)

Beware the toddler running wild,

Beware the toddler running wild,
And tables re-align!
For days of mayhem yet to come,
We’ll still work out just fine!
We’ll have to nail everything down,
And it will work out fine!

And to my friends around the world,
The orb-friends I hold dear,
May all great blessings to you abound

May all great blessings to you abound,
All great blessings abound!
All my best wishes I send to you!
