Ear to ear smiles here on Pucky’s reaction. Yes, mail persons exist, male and female, doing their duty in rain, snow, heat and cold. Mythical creatures all, delivery over all, for all, to all. Pucky “knows” this and Goldie has confirmed this immutable fact. Now, to convince Elvis. Tough task.
She tells us, not only that the Mailman exists, but that there are lots of Mailmen. And yet Puck has never been able to get a single photo of one.
And then she goes on to talk about Mailwomen! No doubt the idea is that Mailpeople reproduce and have Mailkittens.
I’m not buying it. She was out in the wild, suffering from the shock of her people’s disappearance. She was hungry, hiding, and in a desperate conflict with raccoons. It seems likely that the stress of the whole business induced some pretty weird hallucinations, and the Mailtribe is one such hallucination.
How about a nature documentary on the elusive Wild Mailmen and Mailwomen? Where do they live? What do they eat? Why do they “Mail”? (We can skip the mating rituals)
I now report on a sticky situation: Today is Sticky Bun Day. You all know what that means: soon everything will be sticky, and possibly stuck to something else. Those who are addicted to toebeans will be stuck on them, but that’s nothing new.
Public Service Announcement: Never pet (or lick) a cat while or after eating a sticky bun.
I am sure that mail carriers give the best treats, boops and belly rubs.
Thanks to all the Orbsters for the kind thoughts yesterday! I am now replete in my quality coffee supply, and properly moist, not-overcooked food. Getting well rested and healed up.
Goldie is highly observant. Even when homeless and scared in the wild, she observed mailPeople! Possibly Georgia slightly less observant when she forgot to notch Goldie’s ear in panel 3.
Thank you, Puck, for reminding us of the strip where Elvis finally saw the mailman. Too bad some folks are going to still say he doesn’t exist. Now he just has to see a mailwoman too (which he will then deny exists again at a later date). At least Goldie knows you are right. And she’s even confirmed one of your suspicions about the mail service.

Creedence Clearwater Revival: Have You Ever Seen the Rain?
Someone told me long ago
There’s someone who delivers mail
All I know, the mail comes every day.
…….
The mail comes, so they say,
Whether rainy or sunny day,
I know, the mail always gets here.
…….
I wanna know, have you ever seen mailmen?
I wanna know, are there mailmen and women?
On a rainy or a sunny day?
…….
Letters and some ads arrive
Every day we realize
They must get here somehow.
…….
Goldie says she’s seen them here,
Tommy likes them too, it’s clear,
They give him skritches and tummy rubs.
…….
I wanna know, have you ever seen mailmen?
I wanna know, are there mailmen and women?
On a rainy or a sunny day?
