Well, father/daughter better get used to cooking and cleaning at Casa DeGroot. No way Nancy is EVER going to do THAT “role” again.

Sadly however, it looks like We’ve been deprived of witnessing Nancy’s first day on the job.

Pity. It would have been interesting to see her interact with employees and customers……., ;)

Nancy looks Luann’s age when she is beyond happy. They’re right when they say joy uplifts you and your age. Well, Nancy, you had a good first night which is lucky. Let’s see how the rest of the week goes.

I guess they started her on the early shift if she’s home while they’re having dinner. Maybe tomorrow they can communicate beforehand about dinner vs. leftovers.

Frank might want to retire now.

Ok, but what I don’t understand is that if she/they are the owners, she is paying herself from her own pocket. Makes no sense, does it? What am I missing here?

obviously, Greg Evans did not come from a restaurant background. My parents had a restaurant in NC for 30 yrs. The only time we ate at home was on days the restaurant was closed. My brother and I would eat dinner at the restaurant and then go home and do our chores and homework. ( they also had a farm). Why waste time cooking at home when you had a fully equipped, and staffed kitchen at the restaurant?

This luann universe has no Covid… else there would be tumbleweeds in the Fuze.

If you actually love your job, you’re one up on at least 90% of people. Time for Frank to quit whatever his day job is, and make The Fuse his whole thing.

Nancy is happy doing this new phase, and Frank will roll with the new dynamic as will Luann. We have yet to see how this stone on water will affect several arcs here (having Nancy there has got to be good for our most suffering characters, Les and Tiffany, not Gun(ther) he has Bets) for one thing.

Looks like Nancy has finally found the work of her life♡. I’m happy for her and hope Frank will take it peacefully. Or start to do like Mr Incredible in “Incredibles 2”.

Either Nancy has just finished serving the day drinkers, or Frank and Luann are eating and/or doing the dishes kinda late.

So Nancy returns on the Friday strip. I’m really curious about tomorrow’s offering. And, will this theme carry over a week. It seems less likely we’ll see Nancy at The Fuse for a while.

When will we see Luann’s burnt offerings???

Hurray for Nancy. She has drive , purpose, and energy. Will any of this rub off onto Luann? Frank (?)….. well he is less in need but that would be good too.

First day on her feet all day? Wait until she tries to fit her swollen tootsies into her shoes tomorrow morning!

I think it would be fun to watch Nancy at the Fuse, getting along well with her young co-workers.

she’s still the mother hen providing food for her charges. now Frank has competition.

The most fun I ever had at a job was when I worked in a bar. Almost got divorced every week.

The first few days of a new gig are like that. Wait until the routine settles in…

tomorrow: Luann gets grossed out by her parents’ PDA.

Is this job seven days a week? She’ll probably cook weekends or holidays? Can’t see her not wanting to. ;-D

Last Call must be at about 7 pm in Pittsville if a bartender gets off work that early.

Anything from a bar or restaurant has to be good.

Well good news all around. If Nancy is the smart woman I think she is she will sit down and enjoy the vegan lasagna and salad and praise her husband’s cooking skills. She will express her joy at finding a good meal waiting for her at home. If she’s not so smart she will yada yada yada on and on about her great first night and make Frank feel bad and unappreciated. We will see how smart she is.

There was someone who used to post here who would have claimed Nancy was jazzed about spending the day with TJ.

The Fuse closes at 6 pm?

I used to come home from work all upbeat and ready to go have some fun while the wife came home looking like something the cat dragged in.

I wonder how many Cougar Cubs she spotted? ;^ )

In the 2nd panel, Frank has that look of pride and self confidence that he will reap rewards for having impressed Nancy.

Frank’s glasses got larger in the second frame :-) You go girl!

according to Luann, Frank comes home from work cranky, tired and hungry. he was expecting the same from Nancy. Instead she’s happy, energetic and refreshed.
