I’ve seen worse. Much worse. My own bedroom when I was a teenager for example.

No one knows how sick I am of this lame “joke” about Luann’s room.

Take a shot a Luann dirty room.

Of curiosity to me is, what’s the ladder for?

Luann used to have posters of actual bands on her wall. Now she apparently follows “The Black Toenails”.

It’s a sign of an undisciplined and unfocused perception filter for Nancy and Frank.However, it makes perfect sense for Luann.

However, when Bernice and Luann spend time together in that room, it’s not a mess.

The running joke of Luann’s messy bedroom has grown long in the tooth and really should end. Yeah, it was cute and funny years back because it fed into the typical stereotype of an adolescent being spoiled, unappreciative, with a false sense of entitlement, but ‘Girlfriend’ is 19 or 20 yrs old, going to college, and should be working a part-time job by now.

Time for the central character of this strip to either move out on her own, enlist in the military, or start buying her own food and paying rent!

Luann reflects her upbringing. It is time she got past bein three years old. Maybe the plot line will change. We are not at all sick of the joke.

When Luann cleans up that mess, they will find Jimmy Hoffa.

When all my children were in high school, they had messy rooms, which they cleaned from time to time. As soon as they got in college, their messy rooms miraculously went away. It’s called growing up. They were much younger than Luann when this change happened. This “messy room” of Luann’s is not age appropriate. Luann is reasonably mature in most other areas of her life. Why draw her with a messy room on Sundays? It’s not funny anymore, and hasn’t been for a long time.

One day Luann will be gone and on her own and Nancy will miss that “dirty room.”

Happy Mother’s Day to Mom’s EVERYWHERE!

I just noticed that Luann’s bedroom does not appear to have a door. Interesting. Easy for the folks to keep an eye on her.

At least I had a door in my bedroom!

Frankly, that looks better than my room when I was a teenager. Heck, you can see the floor.

Technology still has a long way to go… Owever, it would have been awesome if for Mother’s day the strip would have been on Les and Ann.

Seems like someone needs to get luann a copy of Jordan Peterson’s book.

Interesting that she has a poster saying “everyone must go vote” when the last time an election was mentioned in the strip (the November after her HS graduation) she couldn’t be bothered to vote in it, and lied to Delta that she did.

When Luann was a teenager, this was understandable. But she’s not a kid any more and is getting close to 20. Keeping her room this filthy is no longer acceptable.

All of it is excusable except the dirty dishes and leftover food. That is where it crosses the line and becomes “filthy”, and says more about the person than being busy or preoccupied.

I’m I’m a parent here, I’m wondering who this “Greg” is, that Luann can evidently only count on for 5 – 10 minutes.

The cartoon “Zits” goes even more over the top with the teenage messy room thing. The only thing I like in that strip is Sara.

They probably frequently hear Luann yelling, “I CAN’T FIND IT !!!”

Luann’s room is progressing from messy room to toxic waste dump.

Oscar Madison’s messy room continued to be funny after repeated exposure because Jack Klugman always brought some new twist to it – sleeping with his head at the foot of the bed so that Felix finds his feet when trying to wake him up; finding an unfinished submarine sandwich in the mess and taking a bite out of it, etc. And he owned it. If anything, he made it messier just to annoy Felix.

The gag in the “Luann’s messy room” strips is pretty much just that Luann has a messy room. The end. They aren’t all that frequent, so it’s not quite as bad as “Garfield likes lasagna” or “Garfield hates Mondays,” but it’s gotten old.

If there was a dead mouse somewhere in that heap, Luann would be in a hurry to clean up her room!

Seriously. She is an adult. How is she ever going to manage keeping an apartment clean if she can’t manage a single room?

Isn’t Luann 40 years old by now?

To all you know-it-al-critics, I enjoyed the joke! I have wished I could apply certain computer programs to life too!

This is just terrible…..it reminds me of my sister’s room. She was a slob too. Me I was neat and organized “there’s a place for everything and everything in it’s place”. Neat, clean, organized….those mantra’s were taught to me by my grandma and my mom…….I met a gal at a job and she was really nice, we became very good friends. She invited us over…OMG I was afraid to sit down and didn’t drink or eat anything. The house was a mess, dust everywhere and glasses, dishes with dried food on them. My hubby and I sat at the edge of the couch and couldn’t wait to leave.Mind you she was always dressed nicely and clean and the sweetest nice person along with her hubby. She couldn’t cook either. So her hubby Ron, loved coming to our house to eat…he loved my chili, lasagna and other dishes I made. I gave him a big portion of the chili to take home and he couldn’t thank me enough. Plus he walked around the house and was amazed how neat, organized and dust free it all was with us and 2 dogs.

Margaret has it right 100 percent. Enough of the messy room. Luann is not a kid anymore. Some of us were married and cleaning our own homes by 19, and I gave up the messy room at 16 after misplacing my homework one to many times. My floors and dresser drawers never looked like that even in childhood. I was sent back to close my drawers right, and nothing was ever to be left on the floor since before I can remember. This joke is not funny and has gotten way past old. No more. Please!

They passed over a heartwarming Mother’s Day comic for this?

Hopefully Jack never saw her room when he came over. As much as he might like her, seeing that would be a turn off, especially the cups and plates with old food and drink. Let loose a couple cockroaches in there and she’ll have an infestation.

Our daughter after five minutes in mom’s car. We just laughed and said she had Emilyized it.

Boy are teenagers messy! Yuk. Yuk. Yuk! :l

That appears to me to be a very carefully staged “mess” rather a real messy mess. I think someone is setting Luann up.

while it looks like my room lol i do need to clean it i agree it is tiresome and done to death the joke about her room. i thought she lived in a dorm or am i wrong?
