Those whiskers. They slay me. XD It’s a good thing the boys (and Goldie) only have whiskers when they need to, I’m not sure my constitution could take it!

It makes my neck ache just to see them. They’re going to need the kitty chiropractor if that spider doesn’t move on soon.

That spider sure has their attention. Love those whiskers and how each kitty has their own commentary on it. Each so fitting.

My spidey senses told me we would have an arc coming up just like this! (cheeky giggles) Naaaaw, it was Georgia’s sneak preview from the draw along! Ha! Something tells me that Lupin’s chaotic-neutral Ness! :D mwahahaha!

Eight legs, two pedipalps.

On a related note, squids and cuttlefish have two legs, six arms, and two tentacles. Generally, arms have suckers along most of their length, as opposed to tentacles, which have suckers only near their ends.

Oh those upward whiskers!

Legs or arms? Arms or legs?

The Beatles released the movie “Help!” in 1965.

During filming, the working title was “Eight Arms to Hold You.” But they discarded it for whatever reason.

That title finally appeared in 1985 as the name of a song in the movie “Goonies.”

And in 1997, it was the title of Veruca Salt’s second album.

Can’t waste a perfectly good title!

Their whiskers almost look like spiders at the moment…

Never saw all their chins and necks in that way.

Ugh, this is just what I did not need tonight. Ah well.

My Sammy was doing exactly this about half an hour ago … until he realised dean was paying close attention to something outside the window so he had to go investigate that. The spider hasn’t moved yet so he may come back to it later

I have a large crack in my ceiling from all the rain and snow in December and January (had the roof replaced), some insulation poking thru. I didn’t worry about it, I’ll get it fixed when the plague is over. I was walking out of my bedroom and there was the biggest damned wolf spider I have ever seen on the wall by the door. After I recovered from my heart attack, I got a glass and a piece of cardboard, pushed him in it, and threw him outside in the yard. I got up and taped the cracks and crevasse in the ceiling. I think that’s where he got in. I DO NOT like spiders! But I don’t kill anything, well mosquitoes and fleas I will kill. Now every time I feel an itch I think there is a spider walking on me. EEEEK!

One night I was lying in front of the TV when I saw a little spider descending from the ceiling right toward me. I have an agreement with a couple of them in the kitchen that they can do whatever they want as long as their webs don’t get in my way or block me opening the cabinets (and I’ve had to trim them back a few times). This one apparently didn’t read the terms, as she was spinning silk in the exact center of the living room.

I got up, grabbed the strand about six inches above her and relocated her and her web to a less obtrusive corner. By the time I got her there, she had produced another four feet of filament, which I had to take up to keep her from reaching the floor before I got her to her new digs.

A spider? They are utterly doomed!

Goldie has the tail a’ twitching just like my cats when they spot a green or brown anole (aka skink in FL or simply a gecko elsewhere) on the lanai or on a plant outside of one of their sunny window sills.

OK, are we gonna call this CUTC? (Cat Under The Chin). Pretty high up on the cuteness scale.

Remember Elvis only wants five scritches.

Looks like Goldie is about to launch herself. Since she’s sitting on the sofa, she just might make it.

Elvis is correct about spiders. I have had one mock me while it hung on the ceiling. But I was patient and in the end, I won.

Wait! Are we going to get a Pucky chart? Will Beatrix provide detailed info about these high hanging, tap dancing arachnids?

Whiskers forward!

Georgia captured exactly what all our cats do when a bug is on the ceiling. It is hilarious.

When we lived in Oregon with huge spiders, our demon cat would pounce, then lay on the floor and when the spider moved, whack it. She’d retract her paw, spider would move and again she’d whack it. We were forever finding large dead spiders on the floor.

I’m happy to host spiders, but if the kids find them, they’re toast. As long as they stay way off the ground, we’re cool. This spring, I’ve had to escort several outside because they wouldn’t/couldn’t abide by the terms.

I know that look! That look, from both my cats, usually leads to me catching something with many many legs and releasing it outside!

What, I wonder, will happen when the arrogant arachnid drops them a line?

We don’t have spiders right now. I thought I had conquered the ants, but I saw five this morning – or maybe the same one five times. Time to put out the poison again, in spaces where Yum Yum can’t reach.

I hope all you moms were spoiled rotten yesterday. My daughter put together a “medication bowl” for me, some stones with inspirational words, and a fat candle in the middle. She says if I pick up a stone and try to think about what the word on it means, it will help soothe my spirit. It can’t hurt to try, my spirit needs all the soothing it can get.

My wife and daughter are serious arachnophobes. They do not abide by the live, and let live, convention.

At least they are not Murder Hornets.

The only thing worse, is when all the cats are staring at the same spot, and you can’t see anything where they are looking.

Love the whiskers! My “tuxedo tortie,” Sanibel has awesome white whiskers that stand out against her black cheeks, and one curves upward like that. It gives her an intense “Salvador Dali” look.

I’ve been encouraging the spider who set up a web right next to our deck door (while reminding it not to web over it when I go out to feed the crows) — she/he does a great job on flies.

I’m pretty sure spiders have three arms and five legs.

According to the spreadsheet, “There is a spider on the ceiling” has not been adapted to GoComics.

Assemble the cats. Sit down and look up at the ceiling fan (low speed). Allow your eyes top follow the blade with only the slightest head motion.

15 seconds, then look at the cats. If you did it correctly they will also be following the blades with a slight head motion.

We have loads of tiny spiders in our house. They build huge webs near the ceiling corners. I don’t mind. The only problem is when Database eats the cobwebs then pukes. Bigger spiders I don’t want around because some of them are vicious.

For several years we had a spider that would build a web on the end of our porch every October. It would stay through Halloween and on the big night, I would very lightly mist the web and shine a light on it. People would ask if it was real and if they touched the web, the spider would move and they would scream.

I could have lived happily forever w/o reading any of these comments! How about those jumping spiders? They are Olympic contenders! :(
