Great work, John! This looks so much better than the original panel. As I clicked through the pages of that issue of Western Love Trails, there were so many panels you could use in Last Kiss. Deciding which one to use must be really tough!
Won’t you give me three steps / Give me three steps, mister / Give me three steps towards the door? / Give me three steps / Give me three steps, mister / And you’ll never see me no more.
I remember in the Army 1974 I was awakened by a knock on the door. I had just got in from a two week field deployment testing the Hawk missile system. Slept in the cab of a 543A2 service truck. I was not pleased. Opening the door I found myself facing two Alaskan State Troopers, 2 MPs and an unknown Major. He said that’s him to which I was spun and cuffed in lightening speed. Anyway I found myself facing a civilian judge in Fairbanks, the white Major and his teen age (15) very pregnant daughter. Accusation was Me being the daddy. The dates we supposedly got together however had a problem. I was field deployed to a radar base in western Alaska. This was verified by orders and plane manifests. So I was released….with no apology. I didn’t mind…….about two weeks later she gave birth…I was told he was the cutest little African American baby the nurses had ever seen. Wait? What??? How the hell did she pick me out…I’m a saltine cracker!!

I was married once, but I got it annulled when I found out her dad didn’t have a license for his shotgun.

A proposal around here usually means a nine month deadline approaching. In fact, that is the proposal. And no, I don’t live in a trailer park.
