“Our 1X Lives” ! I’m really looking forward to this arc.

She-Whose-Dread-Paw-Holds-Dominion-Over-All has had another close encounter with the evil aliens. This time, however, She was able to escape the toils of their hideous tentacles quite quickly. She was due to have a drain removed this morning. The aliens had enclosed Her neck in what they called, in their monstrous speech, an “Elizabethan collar”, but She, with Her unparalleled ingenuity, found a way to bend it out of the way. Late last night the drain was still in place. Early this morning it had gone. We suspect She ate it. The aliens said that everything looked fine, and that the drain would probably go through with no problems for Her. (Of course, that is just the sort of thing one would expect those foul beings to say.)

Bah! More of this absurd drivel. Count me out for the duration.

My Mom used to be hooked on the Edge of Night, Search For Tomorrow and her fave “Days of Our Lives” (me and my sis preferred Dark Shadows reruns). She was not that techno-savvy but actually learned how to program the VHS me and my sister bought for my Dad (so he could tape the Braves on TBS when they were playing out West) but Mom used it a lot more to make sure she did not miss an episode….. I still remembered she loved Bo and Hope, Patch and Kayla, but could not stand Victor Kiriakis. It seems like a lifetime ago, I guess it was, anyhow this strip made me think back to those wonderful days in the ’80s so thanks!

Angora’s really got her Southern accent going this morning. I hope Georgia will read some more Our IX Lives episodes …

When we were in high school my sister used to hurry home every day to watch One Life to Live. I hated soaps. Back in those days they used to leave in all the mistakes. It was like watching a high school play— made me nervous.

The only soap opera I enjoy. :)

Now that I see Burt and Goldie together I can see another difference to help me tell who is who: Burt has the tradition “M” on his brow while Goldie has 3 broad stripes. That in addition to her beautiful green eyes! My Kitty is a Grey Tuxie and has the most gorgeous emerald green eyes, I just love to look at them! Currently she is sitting out on the patio enjoying the finally here summer weather in south east Wisconsin..

Sometimes I have to click on three different Xs to get rid of an ad that’s blocking the comic. It is SO annoying.

OTOH, I know the ads are what pay for my free comics, so I suppose I should just get over it.

OT: Update on my dad. He had surgery yesterday to fix the vertebrae. They called my mom after the surgery to let her know how it went. The doctor said he would be in the hospital for 2 or 3 days. My mom assumes after that he will be in rehab somewhere. She hadn’t heard from them this morning. I drove her to the hospital because they do allow one visitor, but that meant I couldn’t stay with her. My aunt is going to pick her up this afternoon.

Today is Memorial Day (observed) in the US, and that takes precedence. Take a moment to remember, and say thanks to those who have and do put their lives on the line every day for everyone else, especially those no longer with us. In my opinion, this should be a universal, global holiday.

Courage and dedication know no borders or distinction.

Today is also Tap Dance Day. I never understood the attraction of watching others dance—until I encountered the Liquid Legs Bunch (Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, et al). I never wanted to dance when I was young (I thought it was silly) and never learned. I did like square dancing, but haven’t done it since grade school. I had to learn medieval dance when I was in the SCA, but still didn’t like it. Now I can’t dance, but would love to. So whether you can tap dance with centipedes or have two left feet, dance like no one is watching—we won’t tell and promise not to laugh, at least not out loud.

I really hate these arcs. They slow the pace of the strip way down and take away a lot from it. The regular arcs are way more exciting. More interesting to see what’s going on with Puck, Elvis, Lupin, Goldie, Tommy, Burt, Bea, the Robber Mice, Baba Mouse, Tillie, etc. than to see the show within the strip boring storylines.

We ended up losing Jett. My sister put her back out with her mommy, since she wasn’t fully weaned, and it appears someone laid on her.

Sadly, her sister, Artemis, seems to have the same issues with her eyes, so I’m expecting her to come inside permanently, soon. At the moment, she’s coming in 2-3 times a day tho be fed, since she doesn’t seem to be getting enough food on her own.

OK, is this going to be as good as treats?

How long has Breaking Cat News been listed in Wikipedia? it says the page was last edited on Feb 1st this year. I was trying to find Kit’s brother’s name and googled and Wiki came up. They don’t have much info at all but still..
