Hmmm. Weird idea here. Allan and Duffy seem to be less entangled all of a sudden. Are we seeing “good” toothbrushes racing in to protect them against the “bad” toothbrushes controlled by “I” along with the vortex created by “I”??

It looks like Wally has their full attention. Time to pull out the dittos and see what happens.

He was the master control the entire time and they were only chasing him to await further instructions? Lends credence to the possibility there is an Other Wally here and they can’t tell the difference.

If Douglas Adams were alive today, he would have loved Endtown.

Those toothbrushes have caught sight of Wally’s tail in full fluff mode, and realized they can’t compete.

    Dittos and toothbrushes:

I now, more than ever, think that the toothbrushes and dittos are related. We have seen a number of similarities.

A whirlwind took Ravenscroft: it appeared to be made from dittos, but that is not certain.

We just saw a toothbrush whirlwind.

The dittos and toothbrushes are both capable of moving from place to place by themselves.

Both seem to be able to take a somewhat humanoid shape. Wally’s dittos make a cartoon caricature, while the toothbrushes made a rather sinister looking humanoid in the office, as well as the one outside.

Why a toothbrush? Well, remember that the dittos feed off of emotions. If the toothbrushes are similar, then they too may need a source of emotions. Almost everyone in a human society will have a toothbrush. So they will be close to emotional sources. It’s a rather clever disguise in that infiltration can be complete — and unsuspected.

When the dittos are starving, as they were on the Edmund Fitzgerald, they created scenes of horror to stir emotions. It may have been a while since the toothbrushes had any sources. They have successfully created a great deal of fear here.

And now the toothbrushes have confronted Wally in their numbers. Because Wally has dittos.

If the toothbrushes can communicate as well as the dittos, much can be learned. If the toothbrushes can morph like the dittos — oh the power!

Thinking back a few days, someone jokingly commented that he was locking the bathroom door from the outside. That seemed like a good idea at the time, but now you need to hermetically seal that bathroom… and no air vents or windows either!

    What’s that noise?

    Toothbrushes in the air ducts!

Maybe the brushes were just startled by Alan and Duffy. Now they see Wally’s light…. think lighthouse and settle down.

I’m an old man (past 72 years & counting down), and I find this story style & format quite engaging. Our artist is a true communicator of emotion and narrative; so glad I’m around for this type of story telling!
