Seems like women would have passed speech along to babies during the rearing process, producing both male and female children who speak. Unless males have not yet evolved the physical attributes necessary for advanced vocalization. Close examination of the thick-necked louts yields no evidence of an Adam’s apple, ergo they do not yet have a fully developed larynx, thus only limited phonatory function. Wait . . . what?
