    You would think art collectors would intentionally collect the works of good forgers. (Read the short story by Norman Spinrad A THING OF BEAUTY for inspiration even though the would-be cheat didn’t realize what he had.)

    There are people out there who make a good living at “art reproductions.” They may use techniques and materials that look like the original art, but they will often include ‘flaws’ that reveal it as a fake. As long as no claim is made that it is the original piece, and that it is only a representation, they can get away with it.
