Lol. Trouble with tribbles. I think I remember that one. Isn’t that when the Enterprise gets literally flooded with tribbles? Nice nod to two classic sci fi sagas.
Ha! I love it! And a straight shot from Pucky, dead center in the joke!
Off I go to watch both “The Trouble with Tribbles” and “Trials and Tribble-ations”, preferably back-to-back, with “More Tribbles, More Troubles” into the bargain if I have time! …in the morning, at least.
Since the Man and Woman have Disney+, I’m betting that the cats and their friends will soon be doing their version of “Hamilton” with Elvis as Alexander Hamilcat and the Robber Mice will be the Schuyler sisters.
Aha, the Man also is fond of (certain) alien babies. I am surprised that the house is not packed with tribbles by now! You must never beam more than one aboard!
I just signed up for Disney+ just so I can watch Hamilton. And maybe I’ll check in on the Mandalorian just to see what all the fuss is about. This is not going to be a permanent thing, so I want to get my month’s worth out of it. The one thing I absolutely will not watch is Old Yeller (hopefully they have consigned it to the deepest darkest never-show vault).
Ah, it’s an SF mixed marriage! But how are you raising the children?♥ (I was gestated in the womb of a Trekkie, but that Trekkie also took me to see Star Wars when I was four years old.)
OT. Went into hospital yesterday afternoon, back home this morning. Four little incisions. Sir Lancelot Spratt would have been very disappointed. Me too. I ran out of puns.
Good reference to the TOS episode. I believe DS9 revived it with a flashback episode where the crew from Deep Space 9 went back to that space station when Kirk and Company were there and Warf had to explain why the Klingons of the TOS era looked different. “It is a personal matter…..” our Klingon warrior stated and yes, he did not like tribbles either and Chief O’Brien got in a few digs on his friend.
I love the picture of baby creature alien in panel 3. It’s little green hands with 3 fingers splayed out and adorable bald head ( no hat) make me smile!
Okay, for those unfamiliar with Tribbles, here’s a quick clip from the episode on You Tube just giving the highligts (or lowlights) of it. https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=youtube+trouble+with+tribbles&docid=608053711207469006&mid=444116442FEB21503D5A444116442FEB21503D5A&view=detail&FORM=VIRE
Today is Meteor Watch Day—and frankly, it’s wrong. There are no major meteor showers near this date. There is a Class II (Minor) shower, the alpha Capricornids, from July 3 to August 11. There are a few Class III (variable) and Class IV (weak) showers about now, but most people will not be able to detect them. The next major shower is the Perseids, July 17 to September 1, peaking about August 12. If you are somewhere without light pollution, they can be spectacular. We used to vacation about that time every year in the BWCAW, and between the Perseids and occasional Northern Lights, the viewing was spectacular.
So to end on a cheerful note: Somewhere out in space there is a very large rock with our name on it. Sort of puts things in perspective, doesn’t it? Have a nice day, fellow “dinosaurs.” 8^} (Yes, Robin is entirely correct. It’s only a matter of “time.” b^D
For those who want to see tribbles, you can google You Tube – Tribbles and find a number of clips so in 3 or 4 minutes you’ll get the highlights of the episode.
All of the speculation and sci-fi talk has me over here feeling very, VERY excited for the rest of the week to play out! Ahhhh! Sometimes I wish I could have all 6 daily strips post at once, lol!!!

My hubs and yours would get along very well. He has zero interest in Star Wars; meanwhile, I watched all nine canon Star Wars movies the first week of the quarantine.
Ok, I have a rant. It irks me to no end that “Baby Yoda” is referred to as “the Child.” Why? Because in the prequel trilogy children were not called “children”! They were “younglings”! So this cute little critter should be known as “the Youngling”!
My word, who’s in charge of continuity at Star Wars??

Meanwhile Back on the Nile
Beatrixia: How you doing with the scrolls, Elvis-Anum?
Elvis-Anum: Just about finished, thanks to my spider friend here.
Petros-Parkner: It’s a cinch. All I do is dip a leg in ink and crawl over the papyrus. (Good thing I don’t mind getting my feet wet.)
Beatrixia: I’m going to Trevor-Hotep’s nursery with Sophititi and Maat-Tilda. Want us to take them along?
Elvis-Anum: That would be great. I was wondering how to get them there. Too bad there’s no one to deliver them all the time.
Petros-Parkner: Can you give Arachna and me a lift to the oasis? The locusts have a plague scheduled for tomorrow.
Beatrixia: Not a problem. We could do with more spider treats for the reception.
Elvis-Anum: How are you going to travel? Emma and Avenger are kind of busy right now.
Beatrixia: Emma’s maid of honor Tara is taking us.

Baby alien on my shoulder makes me happy
Tribbles in Man’s lap can make me sigh
Baby in his blankie looks so lovely
Sci-fi almost always gets me high
If I had a story that I could tell you
I’d tell a story of galaxies far away
If I had a song that I could sing for you
I’d sing a song to make you want to stay
Green doll on my shoulder makes me happy
Man’s lap of Tribbles makes me ask why
Green dolly in my arms looks so lovely
Sci-fi almost always makes me high
