Coney does look like an ice cream cone from the V-shape of his jacket collar to the little twirl on his head that looks like the top of a soft serve cone. Also, his jacket is roughly V-shaped and it’s checked as someone noticed yesterday.

The kid is apparently named Howdy, as would seem appropriate from his appearance.

Ha. The daily now has strawberry/vanilla (or something pink and white). Back in sync with Sunday. But the double cone.

My ice cream would have melted by now!

What a letdown this Coney chump is bound to be.

Is that Shaggy with Howdy?

Is this a Chester Gould villain?

Howdy Doody would never hang out with bad guys! Mr. Bluster, now that’s another story.

I predict there is about a 0% chance Coney survives this story. He has “one-off villain to be killed in Sunday climax strip” written all over him.

Hmmmmm…..mid July……so maybe we can get this over just in time for a scary new Halloween adventure!

What happened to Sunday? Too much action in the ice cream shop for Go Comics to handle?

Didn’t he order two dips of fudge brownie? He must have finished those two scoops and got another ice cream cone since then.

Looks to me like that cone has two cups on top but only one bottom sticking out of Coney’s fist in panel 1.This is surreal with Coney looking like a fat Archie complete with check coat, Howdy Doody, Shaggy from Scooby Do and your classic unshaven villain complete with trench coat and fedora.

The ice cream flavors switched sides between panels.(No Neil, Coney didn’t turn the cone around)

The gocomics colorist is as sloppy as a melted ice cream cone.

1-HOWDY DOOGIE: Hey! The boss brought us ice cream!

2-FAT ARCHIE: Shut up ya mugs. This is for me, see! I got two dips. If it would a been for you, it would a been three dips – one for each of you dips***s!

SHAGGY: If Scooby was here, I’d have him bite you.

HOWDY: Yeah. I don’t tolerate rude behavior very well. Just ask Buffalo Bob…oh. You can’t. I plugged him when he got uppity with me.

LE SHADOW DE FIVE O’CLOCK: Oui boss. I ‘ave two raz-ors – one for my face and one for ze throat. Mebbe, you reconsider sharing, no?

FAT ARCHIE: Listen boys. I either eat this or I start thinking about a threesome with Betty and Veronica and Jughead. None of us want that. SO SHADDAP.

LE SHADOW: Mon Dieu! I have lost my appy-tite for ze ice cream. And for ze life…

The fellow in the blue, turned-around baseball cap looks a fair bit like Scooby-Doo’s Shaggy.

The guy in the baseball cap looks familiar…. maybe it was the cue ball story? And dark fedora guy…isnt he a leftover from either b.b. eyes’ last arc or maybe mr roboto?

Betcha this losers full name is gonna be “Coney I. Sland”

The ice cream changed from double chocolate to vanilla and strawberry on the way over.

The classic DT villains were grotesque… this one is just silly.

Love the design of these two villains, Coney and Howdy but I guess they used up all their creative energy because the last two members of the gang look like a pair of scuzzos off the street, haha.

Geez, a villain who didn’t die 60 years ago. Now if there’s only a story

umm, when we last saw Coney on Saturday he ordered a double dip of CHOCOLATE FUDGE, not strawberry and I presume vanilla.

What we have here in this strip is a quality control issue. This past Saturday’s strip depicted Coney choosing two dips of fudge brownie. How come today’s strip has what looks like vanilla and strawberry or is it raspberry? Someone must have mugged Coney on his way back to the hideout. Suit not dirty, hair not mussed up. And the culprit was really smooth, didn’t take any money, only his flavors of ice cream. Coney must have been too discombobulated to notice the switch. Then on second thought he was hypnotized. I get it this storyline is like a movie. When Coney left the ice cream shop, the director yelled cut, action had to be set up for the next scene. Somebody overlooked the ice cream flavors. Whoever helps Joe and Mike with this strip need to co-ordinate with each other.

Wait til we get introduced to Coney’s sister.. DAIRY QUEEN!

Howdy Doody a criminal? Shirley, you can’t be serious!

“Ice cream” Coney is a fat ice cream addict; he apparently consumed the double-dip fudge brownie he ordered last week and is now following it up with the vanilla and strawberry (or whatever that pink flavor may be) double. He is also the leader of this motley gang of street urchins, including a Howdy Doody imitator who calls himself Howdy, a scuzzy scrawny guy with a backwards blue baseball cap (who vaguely resembles, for some, Shaggy from Scooby Do), and the shadowy character in the big black or grey slouch hat and coat. And this pack of stooges is asked to report on Dethany, the"meddler" in Coney’s still-amorphous intentions.

The whole lot of them look about as smart, combined, as Shaky Mk.2! The quality of villains in Tracyville has surely declined from the Bad Old Days to the Incompetent Present Time….

And the coloring error continues. Fudge brownie is brown not off white and strawberry.
