Lupin seems to have changed from being a chaotic neutral to chaotic evil. Bad kitty! Bad, bad kitty!

Lupin is deaf… so sneaking up on him is a bit easy.

I have had a few problems lately. Mostly spouse has been away for medical reasons. For over two months he has been missing. I fairly recently got him back. But I was still adjusted to him not. I have had bad dreams of someone breaking in while he is gone. I fell asleep in my chair when he went off for a nap in bed. The next thing I know – someone has grabbed me by my shoulder. I come up swinging! My nearest “weapon” is actually a pillow. After beating him backwards about eight feet… I hear spouse screaming, “Why are you hitting me!?” That was a long conversation to explain to him! He is now spooked to touch me when I am asleep.

I very much understand being spooked by someone surprising you!!!

Oh, this scenario looks familiar! We took care of a cat named Celie (though everyone spelled it like “Ceelee” for some reason) for a while before reuniting her with her Woman (long story), and she did not like our cats, Bagheera and Blossom! Bagheera would at least back down, like he didn’t want a girl kicking his butt (LOL), but Blossom did not, so there was a lot of poofing and hissing involved. Fun times indeed…

Will this be the start of an actual just resolution to the Lupin/Goldie issue?

Or are my hopes of seeing justice once again doomed?

Wow! That’s a lot of hiss and poof!

It’s amazing how cats do this – fail to recognize someone they know, forget someone lives there. And Lupin’s antigravity move seems to be the default when this happens.

What is funny is that the two cats can be on the same bed for hours, and then one simply looks at the other and suddenly we have a hiss-spit!

Are cats telepathic and one just insulted the other?

My folks recently adopted a new cat to go along the other two they already have. One, the eldest, having experienced new cats coming and going from the house before, has been fairly indifferent about it, but the other seems to be reacting much like how Lupin is here—preferring to pretend the new cat just isn’t really there, up until she’s forcibly reminded and then the hissing starts…

Awe. Lupin and Goldie, BFFS, best frenemies forever.

Couldn’t wait til tomorrow to share with the Orb family…. adoption approved, paid for and we bring Sultan home tomorrow! (It’s Sunday night in Australia). Sheba will be so happy, she won’t have to take care of us 4 humans and her sister, Jellydog. And I’m excited.. I know it will take a while to settle him in, but I’m confident that we’ll all be fine :)

Lupin! What is your problem with poor Goldie? She’s so great! Stop hissing and floofing.

Goldie needs to bunny-kick his furry little butt and teach him a lesson.

Lupin has an attention deficit problem compounded by hyperactivity. I. e. he’s one variety of completely normal cat.

My elderly Angel is partly deaf and I swear Gandalf uses that to startle her.

This has to be because Lupin is deaf.

Today is Take Your Houseplants for a Walk Day, and Walk on Stilts Day. Those of you who have houseplants should therefore take them for a walk on stilts. Don’t forget their leashes, and to clean up after them. No one wants plant fewmets on their lawn.

If you survive that, you may want to celebrate National Créme Brûlée Day and National Scotch Day. Make a custard with sufficient scotch in it, sprinkle with sugar, ignite, and enjoy—sort of like a roasted marshmallow, but much more risqué. True devotees of that noble distillation, scotch whiskey, will want to use a blended scotch for the incendiary, with a generous glass of single malt … well to the side of the créme brûlée inferno. And don’t forget to listen to or play bagpipes all the while, in honor of Bagpipe Appreciation Day. (Note, it has been said by some barbarous peoples that bagpipes can be approximated by strangling a pig. This is not true, and greatly annoys the pig.)

Poor Puck, coffee spilled because of Lupin and Goldie being ********.Elvis may have step in to protect Puck. Or Puck may have to go Puckie Postal, that’s assured to scare the living daylights out of everyone.

I saw her again. Yesterday I was grilling hot dogs and hamburgers on the back porch and the little black cat was in the back yard. She looks to be maybe 8 to 10 months old and, as soon as she saw me, she took off like a bolt of lightning.
