Cats! if you do not rub them – then you have rubbed them the wrong way. Ergo – dogs are better.

Like my beagle does, but without the growling. It’s more like, “Why on earth would you stop? Don’t you love me anymore?”

A thankful belly rub for spending warmth and security!!

How to start a tiger.

Hobbes made him an offer he couldn’t refuse.

Our cat wants an EAR rub. The catch is that if you stop “early”, she swats you. And if you keep doing it after she’s done, she swats you. It’s part of her system to make sure that she is the undoubted  center of your attention.

I had that problem at a petting zoo when I was young. The deer I was feeding did not understand the concept of “no more food”. It seemed to think more food would appear in my hand if he just gave it a nudge or two.

It is a well known fact that cats rule the roost.

No good deed goes unpunished.

My cat continually reminds me that his ancestors used to eat my ancestors.

Pleasure me or else. It appears that Tiger belly rubs can be hazardous to your health.

And we didn’t even have to wait for the “Shickkk” of his claws being extended!

Would Calvin prefer a happy or angry Hobbes?

No, Calvin.

What you do is get his leg moving while giving him a belly rub, then, when the leg starts scratching his own belly, you then leave quietly and leave the perpetual motion machine to keep on keeping on.

Others said it earlier, but I’ll just add this; Pets know why you ’scritch’’ them or rub bellies. What they’ll never understand is why you stop.

My cat gets a minimum of five minutes “luvey-dovey” time each day. It involves rubbing her fur backwards and forwards, playing with her paws, massaging her whisker muscles and general chin-scratching. She will remind me when it is time for her session. She doesn’t have a watch but she will pull me back if I try to stop early.

Humans always think they’re the masters…

I’ve met some neighborhood cats that I can pet for a minute, try to walk away and he’ll block my path so I can’t get away.

The equivalent here is stop feeding the Ravens after feeding them one time.

It’s like giving acorns to wild squirrels, if you don’t give it, they will make you scream AUGHH or, AIEEEE, so, that’s why in hikes you see signs that say, don’t feed wild animals.
