Be happy he didn’t have to use a flamethrower to stop the book’s rampage.

The book had to eat his paper. He doesn’t have a dog, and Hobbs has too much class to stoop to anything like that.

It reminds me of differential equations and linear algebra around 1976-7, long before the internet could show what they are visually instead of abstractions.

Years ago when I used to work in Montreal, my boss called in on a Monday morning to say he had been knocked out by an elephant at the Granby Zoo the day before and that he still wasn’t feeling well. We all had a good laugh thinking he probably just over did it on the weekend until the local radio station reported the incident.

It reminds me of differential equations and linear algebra when I could have used some imagination. Back in 1976-7, they were abstractions with no internet to visualize them.

Not an unknown phenomena, the Grimoires of the Unseen University can be very feisty and many require very special precautions to prevent ‘accidents’ (Discworld reference)
