2020 in a nutshell!

I’ll make it political. Looks like the trump administration.

Trump says we are finally turning the corner on the pandemic. He uses the exact same language as Herbert Hoover, who for three years after his policies (combined with his Republican predecessors Harding and Coolidge) collapsed the economy in typical Republican outcomes) kept saying, “Prosperity is just around the corner.” Literally the exact same language.

Trump has been saying the same thing since March. Well, at least to the public. To Bob Woodward, he admitted back in JANUARY that he knew the new coronavirus was transmitted airborne and was FIVE TIMES more deadly than even the “most strenuous” flus. To insider traders among his closest Wall $treet donors, he gave inside information about the financial impacts they could use to sell of stocks that were at risk and buy into industries (like hand sanitizer and paper towels) that would become more profitable.

Trump was saying it would be over before Easter, or “in a few days” or “it will go to zero” it will be “like a miracle” but all the time he was lying and he knew it. He was playing golf and holding rallies, putting the supporters he calls “disgusting people” at risk of their lives, but DID NOTHING because he did not want to threaten the election or the economy, but instead drove both over that cliff in Wiley’s drawing.

In Doctor Who… they had a GPS system known as ATMOS. The villain kept getting rid of people by having the system dive them off a cliff, into the river, or just lock them in the garage and make exhaust. The way SF likes to pick on all of this… maybe we should take note of any chance that the AI will think the world would be better off without us.

This will be a real test for the airbags.

GPS or GOP?

I was in the wilds of Scotland on a motorcycle with another guy following on his. There are NO SIGNS there. I stopped on the road and my friend did too. He asked why did I stop? I said where is the road? It was a switchback, if I had gone 400 ft further, I would have dropped 100 ft off a cliff!!!

We have turned the corner. We just took a left when we should have taken a right. Things are getting worse – if there is any truth in numbers.

I wonder what a driverless car will do when the GPS does that kind of thing.

I blame Mitch and the GOP Senate for letting their wild dog run loose instead of chaining him to a tree in the back yard.

Someone thinks we’ve “turned the corner”. I think “someone’s” gone round the bend.

He keeps pressing for “Herd immunity” which so far has proven very elusive in both Sweden and Spain and certainly in the United States.

My 10 year old granddaughter asked what it was, when I pulled a street map out of the glove compartment. On a related note, when I overheard a 20 year old say before the internet people never know what restaurants were in the town – and I mentioned the Yellow Pages – she stared back cluelessly.

So much for taking a break from depressing current events.

I’ve read stories of trucks hitting low-clearance bridges on parkways, because they were mindlessly following the GPS. Which really makes me wonder about their brains.

Folks, if you look out your left window at the roadway point we exited, just around the bend where we started this downward flight you will see Dr. Fauci at the guardrail shaking his head and holding a sign that says “another White House event that will not end well”.

The administration could not bring themselves to make a left turn and drove the country off the covid cliff.

Reminds me of trying to get home from Salem Oregon after viewing the total eclipse of the sun using Google’s GPS. Only problem, everybody else was following the same directions. Should have stayed on I-5 North instead of driving all over three counties for hours to “Save three minutes by turning right in 500 feet.”

Wow, and with Biden in charge, the economy collapsed, inflation hit new highs, U.S. debt skyrocketed, illegals came in by the millions, racism and bigotry grew exponentially, and the American Dream died for most Americans. Worst President since Buchanan.
