I forget the title – Poul Anderson once wrote a story about an Ewok-like race called the Hokas who had been affected by Western films displayed by Terran visitors (cf Star Trek : TOS’s “A Piece of the Action”). The Hoka sheriff told others he hoped they wouldn’t vote for his reelection, because it would mean somebody else was the stupidest person in town.
