I don’t see anyone taking a hit this early in the story. I appreciate the action so far, though. They ae not just standing around talking.

A distraction will come just as Daisy is about to shoot and instead he will make tracks.

Hopefully Tracy is beyond the effective range of the dart gun…

Good morning™, dastardly dart-wielding dandies!

The diabolical Daisy must have a magician’s jacket seeing as how he’s pulled that huge dart gun from the very same pocket he just put the pilfered perfume bottle into to! Maybe the jacket is a TARDIS?!?

But yes, Maximus, we are entertained.

And that’s how Tracy’s ketamine addiction started!

Interesting, very interesting!

I think he only assumes Tracy is onto the boss, their meeting was accidental I thought?

Maybe he will turn the corner and Daisy will miss!!!

And then he discovers it’s Yeti’s Nerf Gun…

Hmm. I trim these and paste them as week-long strips so I can read then in toto, and this day’s strip is slightly narrower than the others.

Daisy is one of those ‘class’ hoods (as he sees himself). Doesn’t carry a gun.

A dart gun at that range?

This strip consistently has the dumbest criminals ever.

He obviously put the poison in the dart !!!

So even if the crook isn’t stupid, he surrounds himself with stupid, which works to bring him down as well. This guy is too nervous to be a good shot…

Over the many years Chester Gould drew the ‘toon Tracy was put through many, many horrible situations. Ah, the good old days!

Criminals who behave proactively often draw more attention to themselves. Even though the coloring seems like it may be evening, I was under the impression that Tracy went to the store in broad daylight.

Daisy seems to be a typical middle management-level street thug, despite his dapper attire [hey, at least I didn’t resurrect “nattily attired”], too paranoid and glory-crazed to do the smart thing, namely, keep running and not stop to pick a gunfight with Dick Tracy while armed only with a short-range poison dart gun. Even if he manages to hit Tracy, as Tracy runs incorrectly pursuing Daisy in the opposite direction, Tracy may yet have time to drill him before fading into unconsciousness.

I really don’t expect Tracy to spend the next two or more weeks fighting for his life in a hospital bed while Yeti plies his poisonous trade among criminals all over Tracyville!

If DAISY manages to be the crook who finally kills Tracy, it would be a real feather in his cap. Another one! Or he will at last have earned the first one.

I have to laugh – After all the complaining about the slow pacing of the last story and all the guest characters, now we have a fast paced story with real Tracy-style bad guys. Yes, the gun’s too big. I can live with it. It’s still the first week of the story. Relax.

Wouldn’t the “boss” have told Daisy if Tracy was on his radar screen? I am not too sure that doing something on your own has any benefits other than getting the attention of law enforcement.

He grabbed Yeti’s gun, what is this guy….a kleptomaniac?

Sure! Nothing will divert suspicion like being attacked as he leaves the store!

I wonder if Yeti knows that his dart gun is missing and if Daisy took it ?

If so, Daisy might meet Rabbit’s fate ? ;-D

Silly minion! Don’t you realize Tracy’s coat is made of a Kevlar/unstable molecule weave & can double as a powerful body armor?

Someone’s going to be keeping Rabbit company as soon as someone finds out that someone has decided to use their own initiative.

UNCLE agents use dart firing guns over bullets usually.

This guy may be the most overexcitable moron, ever. I don’t know how Yeti has stayed in business this long with such jumpy help.
