I wish that, just once, people who think they like the taste of cauliflower, broccoli, brussels sprouts, etc., could taste what those substances actually taste like to people with normally functioning human taste buds.
There is ever-increasing evidence-based science that following some form of a dietary lifestyle that is low carb and involves time restricted feeding has tremendous health benefits for most people. Most of our diseases of aging are not “normal” or inevitable and are caused by the insulin resistance and inflammation that comes from following the Standard American Diet, not to mention a huge cause of the “underlying conditions” that so many are having bad coronavirus outcomes from. I have come to believe that everyone should learn how to become “fat adapted” and “metabolically flexible” and why you want to get into a state of autophagy on a regular basis. You don’t have to do all-in keto every day for the rest of your life — there are degrees and flexibility. I urge everyone to at least learn about it, especially if you’re over 50. You can reverse diabetes, greatly improve autoimmune conditions (including improving chances of getting pregnant w/PCOS), decrease Alzheimer’s risk, fight cancer and generally feel better by improving the health and function of every system of the body. A little sacrifice and suffering today can greatly improve your future health — it’s the ultimate grown-up version of the Stanford marshmallow experiment. Check out Dr. Jason Fung, Dr. Mindy Pelz, Dr. Peter Attia, Dr. Ken Berry, Thomas DeLauer, Dr. Eric Berg, Dr. Anthony Gustin — all sources I’ve come to rely on as highly credible — they practice what they preach, cite the science and don’t push products (though a few have some and/or advertising sponsors). (I have a degree in biology and am a huge skeptic by nature.) At least learn about it and decide for yourself rather than wait until it eventually becomes embraced by mainstream medicine and you’ve lost years and spent money on treatments you could have avoided by starting to do some of these things sooner! If one person reads this and puts it to effective use, it will have been worth my effort….
The “get rid of excess cauliflower lobby” is nearly as strong as the “eat mussels lobby”.. Waste products, now sold at a premium, folk are so gullible.. What’s next.. bottled water
My husband can’t stand the smell of cauliflower cooking and definitely doesn’t want it in the house. I can’t imagine wasting the money or my time trying Opal’s recipes.
I LOVE rice but even in small amounts it does a major number on my blood sugar, so it’s pretty much off my low-carb diabetic menu. Sigh. I’ve tried cauliflower rice & it’s fine by me – if only it weren’t so bleeping EXPENSIVE!
You can even buy a gadget for “ricing” cauliflower. Riced cauliflower does have the texture of white rice but you really have to spice it up, if you hope to fool anyone.
I love cauliflower. I love pizza and rice. Three completely different foods. Unless you’re a celiac who’s craving pizza, there’s no earthly reason to use cauliflower for crust.

Earl get up and go dump it in the trash like you did yesterday. Opal will take the hint i think, maybe, probably not.

Some people adapt well to new flavors, new textures, ideas, political philosophies… well, you get my point. And some don’t.

Just no. Only way to eat cauliflower is to melt cheese over it and sprinkle soda cracker crumbs on top.
trainnut1956 about 4 years ago
And the miracle of cauliflower is that it won’t taste as good as any of the foods it is replacing!

Deja vu. Apparently cauliflower is good for comic gag lines. Crane should have a can of spinach, and see what ideas that gives him.

I’ve always enjoyed sweet pickled cauliflower in the garden variety jar.
On the other hand, I tended to like nearly everything, still do.
