I dont know…I live in Las Vegas and there are leaves everywhere. And the Flame Maples are gorgeous. They must be in Florida. And yes there is a palm tree in my neighbors yard.
Gwyneth Paltrow offers them on GOOP along with the customized leather watermelon bag, the bread lamp and vagina steaming (I kid you not). You can find more in an article at thecut.com.
Great for allergies, too! Of course, we can’t go back to the days when people raked them off the curb and burned them. Loved that lingering smoke for days!
Mission Viejo, California, USA. The only thing missing in that scene is the irrigation system and a Honda Accord in the drive way (of course the ‘wife’, but she ran off with a spiritual health guru five years earlier…)
Hi Little Alien Dude! Hi Everyone! Lookie! Bleeb’s making a leaf angel! Better go inside when the leaf blower comes out. Bleeb, you look too much like a leaf yourself! :)
True story. Don’t remember where I saw it on television but it was part of a serious news program. A woman living in one of the prairie states was learning to start a webpage and thought it would be funny to offer to sell tumbleweeds. She was shocked when she was contacted by people asking for a price list! Apparently one person was planning a big party with a ‘Western’ theme. Amused, she figured out how much it would cost to put some in boxes and ship them. Luckily there is absolutely no shortage of tumbleweeds because she eventually had so much business that she had her neighbors helping to pack up these nuisances. I wonder if that was a short-lived fad or if she still gets orders.
“Dang it, Junior! I told you not to just jump in that pile of leaves without checking it first… I saw a weird lookin’ yellow bug in there earlier and… oop, never mind, Sissy stepped on it!”
“So, like I was tellin’ ya, I paid $25 bucks for that box of leaves, and you’d think they’d keep the bugs and junk out of ‘em! Say… do you smell sump’n?” シ
In City Park, New Orleans, they would blow huge amounts of artificially made snow into a huge pile for the kids to play in close to Christmas. They did it near the front of Carousel Gardens and would bus in kids from the poor neighborhoods to participate, too.

Would a modern kid know how to frolic in leaves? That’s what I’d like to know.:/

Memories, sweet memories. Even Bleeb gets it. Rolling in the leaves. Even better with a dog.

On a more modernistic level, I sure hope they got those leaves on Amazon Prime.

As far as I’m concerned my leaves are nothing more than puppy poop camouflage.
