I’ve always had a hard time getting the hang of Thursdays too.

Could the Wiz erase and redraw his opponent into something else?

For a minute I was expecting a joke about who had the bigger wand.

A variation on an old saw: a #2 pencil has the power to bring down tyrants, if properly applied, just as a blue pencil can turn the worst editorial rant into a reasoned commentary.

It’s 2020—the whole freaking year has been like this.

(gets reminded of some duels involving magicians in certain movies named “The Sword in the Stone” and “The Raven” (specifically one I had believed was released in the calendar year 1963))

When the wiz has a bad day, he goes all the way. However, the do say the pen(cil) is mightier than the sword. I don’t think the same is true for wands though. A core of dragon hearts string or a phoenix feather is probably way more powerful than a core of lead.
