It’s the implied employee training manual from the angry hippie boss. Everyone knows that. (?)
I like the way the sunburst on the wall behind Aquarius highlights his angry tirade. It’s almost like a halo because Aquarius is right (boss’s privilege) and Dollar Bill is wrong.
Sheeesh ! Will the court grant leniency for killing your boss in illegal trades ? Now might be a good time to look into adult ed classes to learn a new trade, Bill.
I find it amusing the way that the dollar in Bill’s headband changes between frames. It’s usually drawn “left hand side down”, but the first frame here has it reversed. Not a big deal of course, unless you have mild OCD.
12/14 Aquarius to Bill: “It’s your job to keep the regulars happy.”
12/15 Aquarius to Bill: “It’s your job to short change the regulars.”
Pick one or the other, don’t tell him to do both.
I stand by yesterday’s assessment that this storyline is making less sense all the time. We can only hope that the cameo by Tiger Lily was a clue pointing to the next arc and not another complication in this mess.
1-NARKY MARK: HANG ON! I’M NOT FINISHED WITH YOU YET…
2-…SO WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT…hey. Where’d he go? That sneaky bast**d got away from me!
3-SUMMER O. LOVE:Look at that idiot yelling at an empty chair. He’s the “brains” of the outfit but he’s too stupid to take off those dark shades when he’s inside! Why, I’d be on top of the world if I was in his shoes! Lucky for him, we don’t have the same size feet or it would be LOOK OUT WORLD – SUMMER’S HERE!
With the number of business books out there, management texts, marketing, distribution, you name it – one would think there has to be several really big, really efficient drug companies out there that let incompetent drug dealers take the heat while they just churn profits. Oh yeah – that’s what the Sineloa cartel was …
When it comes to people who probably won’t notice or react badly if they do notice when you sell them a somewhat smaller amount of merchandise than what you originally promised for a set price, definitely cocaine addicts are the first group that I think of.
Great strip today, especially the art. Here I actually sympathize with Dollar Bill; whenever management creates a problem, they always blame the hired help and sometime suggest a solution that’s worse (like this). I love the final panel: his expression and inner dialogue is perfect.

If I was Bill’s customer, I’d start looking for a drug dealer with more honesty and integrity.

I would assume that “shorting big customers” could be a dangerously misconstrued way to show initiative by a street-level dealer.

I don’t think his bigger consumers will be happy about this.

See, Dollar Bill has clearly not read any of the Harvard Business School studies on the industry.

It would be interesting if the police will bust him and to get a lesser sentence, he turns on Aquarius and company…

Isn’t the point to SELL their supply? If he sold it all, who cares to whom?

Sounds like a great way to get whacked. Not a good idea. Trust me on this one. Do NOT piss off the large scale buyers.

Does Dollar Bill have the gumption to try to take out Aquarius? There must be lots of people he could blame it on, if the po-po questioned him….
Aquarius, equally, could get into trouble with those higher up the food chain in his drug business if they get wind of his skimming scam….
