We here in New England did get snow a few days ago!! About a foot in some places!! As of now, it’s all gone!! At 4:20AM (Local), it is pouring rain and the wind gusts are over 50mph!! NOT a “white” Christmas…here!!
I got into the habbit of sitting up late on xmas eve in case my father in law fell down or got into trouble. Thse days have passed but there’s still something about sitting up late into the night thinking off what might be out, but last night with wind and rain rattling on the windows i imagined, easily, what it would be like if it were cold enough for it to be snow.
“The presence of some connection between a Christian celebration and a pagan celebration could imply a synchronistic copy-cat (“Hey, let’s Christianize this popular pagan holiday so as to make our celebration more palatable”), or it could mean a deliberate rejection (“Hey, this pagan holiday is horrible, so let’s put something distinctively Christian in its place”). After the conversion of Constantine in the fourth century, Christians did sometimes adapt and Christianize pagan festivals. Whether they did so wisely and effectively is open to historical debate, but the motivation was to transform the paganism of the Roman world rather than raze it to the ground. Even if Christmas was plopped down on December 25 because of Saturnalia and Sol Invictus, that by itself does not entail that the Christian celebration of Christ’s birth really began as a pagan festival.” https://www.thegospelcoalition.org/blogs/kevin-deyoung/is-christmas-a-pagan-rip-off/
I’m late posting this because it rained last night into this morning. At about 4:00 AM on Christmas morning, we lost power, and it’s still out. I’m typing this from a different location. They’re predicting that we’ll have power again by midnight tomorrow.
But at least it was a warm day (for December in New England).

Taking a nap under the work bench! That looks familiar! I can’t count how many times I just gave up and went to sleep. That includes wrapping gifts!
Hope your day is a happy one!

The snow is due to political climate change.
It’s the politicians who lost their election and swore it will be a snow day in hell before they give up their elected seat.

¡Felices Fiestas! from Mexico City, where the last time we had snow was on January 12, 1967. Supposedly two inches of the white stuff fell.

That was basically the case here in Michigan. White Christmas at the last minute.
