    That actually helps the fish, as the smaller guys are looking for “structure” to hide from their predators.

    I worked with a guy that did that every year. He’d attach a cement block to the tree and set it out on the ice on his lake. In spring, it would sink and make excellent structure for the fish. He know the right spot to catch his limit.

    Actually a very “green” thing to do.It provides habitat for the fish, it’s being encourage now.(Not sure about the cinder block .)
