Today, I enjoyed an old MAD Magazine strip that featured “Snow Tires” for $5! The punchline – there was also Snow Boots, Snowmen, and Snow Balls on sale as well! ;)
Wish I could make a snow man that big. Last one I managed to make larger then me took most of the snow in the back yard, I had to use rakes for his hands. Also his head was to small in comparison to his body, and boy did I have fun getting that thing up the ladder.
@jasonsnakelover" We are fortunate to have an HOA that works with its members to solve problems and to allow certain variances that have arisen since its restrictions, never very elaborate to begin with, were written in 1987. In other subdivisions experience showed that very strict and legally binding guidelines designed to make life perfect proved to inhibit sensible changes brought about by new technologies, building materials, and new standards of living.
Seems when a group designs a legal fortress against what its members perceive as the encroachment of undesirable influences, it must be prepared to become itself an undesirable location within a decade or so.
But, then, mankind has ever been blind to the future, try as it might to establish the present as forever.
Has anyone EVER have anything good to say about a HOA? ..actually I do: WE DON’T HAVE ONE! The only requirement to building a house on my block was a square footage requirement which was actually quite reasonable. Now all the lots are built on and everybody is (more or less) happy.
A family got notice from their HOA about a violation when they had their cub scout troop camp out in their back yard – seems the “rules” stated NO tents… Another case of ZERO COMMON SENSE by the HOA. The no tents rule was put in place by the developers to keep folks from living on their lot in tents while the house was being built… When the development was completed, the company turned the rules over to the members of the HOA who did not purge the “BS” rules.
