The disgruntled look on Luann’s face in the 1st panel suggests my theory that this is a prank has gone out the window with his midnight caller. My backup theory is that it’s Ben, the only character I can think of who would not want Bernice to know he’s there. Whether he’s just asking for advice on how to better get a long with Bernice or if they are kanoodling is undecided.

It’s not like Luann is under oath or something.

So, she’s under NO obligation to tell Bernie anything.

But it’s not so “funny” when someone sticks their nose in YOUR business for a change, is it Lu?

I guess Luann SHOULD be thankful that is was Bernice and not Tiffany staying at Casa DeGroot.

Because Tiffany would have likely found a way to use this “interesting development” as BLACKMAIL. :)

Anyhow, Luann looks to be on the offensive but Bern could turn the tables and say: “You know Luann, I got woken up a bit earlier, I could have sworn there was someone in the room with you, crazy huh?!?”

Wow bernice, i thought you could lie better than that. If you’re gonna lie, lie good. If you can’t lie good, just own up to what you’re doing. You gave Luann crap for being nosy about gunther’s love life and yet you’re doing the exact same thing.

OK then… since we do have a fairly large contingent of Bernice-haters, this just adds more fresh meat for the grinder. People who HATED her have even more reasons to hate her now. People who were somewhat neutral about her (like moi) are now feeling a tinge of revulsion at these childish antics. People who WERE sympathetic can now feel that sympathy slipping away.

Hopefully this may trigger Bernice’s long-awaited exit from Casa DeGroot so she can go home where she belongs? Me… I don’t have a high tolerance for “invasion of privacy” and if my supposed “best friend” pulled this on me in my own HOME, I’d tell her to pack her bags, call her family, let them know she’s going back home.

Oh here we have Luann – who interferes in EVERYBODY’S personal life acting indignant because her best friend is showing concern about people sneaking into the house through windows. Maybe Gunther could appear and tell her off again, that would be good. If it were me I would back her right up and demand to know what is going on. I’m sure Frank and Nancy would be interested as well.

If this is how we find out that Luann is sexually active, it is the worst reveal in comics history. TV has done worse.

I love the indignant way Luann is staring at Bernice ♡. Awesome how Bernice is trying to convince Luann that she absolutely didn’t try to spy on her. There will be a big fight early in the morning and Bernice has no excuse… LET’S GO!!!!!!!!

Yuk, yuk, Bernice. A glass to your bedroom wall would have sufficed. We already know how thin that wall is. The question is, how long are we going to be stalled? Pacing is not G&K’s strong suit.

I get the comedy effect and the pacing needs. But remember that Bernice’s room is next to Luann’s room, and, as we have seen, the head of both their bad is against the very thin partition wall. So two things: Bernice could have heard as well if not better by placing the glass against the wall.

Second and most important, Bernice’s window is on the same side as Luann’s… Therefore if Bernice wanted to know who is leaving through Luann’s window, she just needed to look through hers.But we’ve established that Bernice isn’t very smart that way, and especially not under pressure.

Greg and Karen are under no obligation to reveal “who” that was in Luann’s bedroom, too Quickly.

Remember how long it took for Tom Farrell’s face to be revealed? Or how long it took to get RID of Ann Eiffel the last around?

We may not find out “who” that was in Lu’s bedroom, tomorrow, next week, next month, or even this year. In fact, the writing team might not have even settled on “who,” yet. G&K could play this thing out for YEARS, tossing out red herrings and having fans endlessly speculating “Is it _HIM?? No! Is it HIM??”

Hell, many of Us may have our second COVID shot, Third Stimulus Check, a New PS5 AND those highly coveted RTX 3000 series video cards in hand, before We find out “who.” ;)

According to Ian Fleming, the glass on the wall trick only works if it’s hand-blown crystal with a stem. That way the glass is thin enough to transmit the vibrations and the stem base is a great amplifier.

Boy the trolls are out today. This is actually a very good exposition of the set-up—someone who apparently spent the night going out Luann’s bedroom window—who and why—Bernice having been waken from her sleep with intriguing and possibly incriminating sounds coming from the bedroom, so I argue that Bernice’s curiosity/nosiness is entirely understandable. Luann is not buying it though, and again what is the nature of why? Is she embarrassed, angry, what? And why? See analysis without trolling.

A “no information” day today. I tell you…. Greg is just teasing us with this red herring! :)

He does tease us very, very astutely.

It will be funny and rather surprising I am sure, to see what the actual story is compared to what Bernice thinks it is….. and a whole lot of readers think it is too.

I so very much doubt Greg is going to have his “marquee” character…. out of the blue…. have a “boyfriend” sneak into or out of her bedroom window. It seems even more obviously a red herring to me…. because Luann is not flustered in the least (she is perturbed at Bernice, but that is a different matter). I firmly believe that if Luann were to be sneaking a romantic interest into and out of her room… and anyone was investigating it, Luann would be flustered.

Addendum…. you all have to keep in mind this is Luann DeGroot not Luann de Lesseps (some of you may know who this is). Luann DeGroot would be flustered IMO to be found out having a romantic interest sneak into and out of her room. Luann de Lesseps may simply say…. “Whatever.” to being found out in the same scenario.

Mordock999 I’ve been away from the comics for a time. Notice that some have comments and others do not. Have they stopped allowing comments on 9ChickweedLane and some others? There aren’t any comments on Luann over on arcamax that I can fine either. Maybe I just missed some announcement somewhere?
