Here’s a novel, but effective* strategy for the baby racing: raise your baby from birth with constant exposure to a shrieking skull. Then, when the race comes, scare all the other babies away with the same skull, and your baby will be the only one able to finish.
*Note: I can only guarantee a racing advantage, and cannot comment on any potential legal, ethical or medical consequences of this strategy.
I have heard the songs of fishes. It can be eerie. Even knowing the facts, it is still mysterious, involving. On warm nights in the spring and summer, on the banks of the Singing River, a thrum-thrum-thrumming sound rises from the water.
The river is actually named the Pascagoula River. Legend attributes the sound to spirits of the lost tribe of Pascagoula Indians. After centuries of living in peace beside the Biloxi tribe, a dispute arose over the Biloxi princess Anola, promised to a Biloxi chief. She loved a Pascagoula chief, Altama, and had joined that tribe.
The Biloxi tribe was much larger and known for its warriors. The Pascagoulas were agrarian and had no warriors to speak of. When the Biloxis declared war, the Pascagoulas knew that they would be massacred, survivors taken as slaves. They chose to walk into the river, singing their own funeral song.
The thrumming sounds, heard as someone recounts the legend, raise goosebumps. The funeral song of the spirits of the lost tribe?
It is the mating call of fish known as drums or croakers.
A WPA mural depicting the gathering at the river has been in the Pascagoula city Post Office for the last 80 years except during rebuilding of the PO following Hurricane Katrina.
Fish will “sing” but if you “sleep with the fishes” you won’t :D Here’s another “try to prove me wrong” factoid: "Much like dinosaurs, human will ‘extinct’ " ;)
How can there NOT be a Baby Racing Olympics?!? The sportsmanship could well be on a higher level than we typically see with adults! (More crying, but less trash talking.)

Joke time!
A man walks into a restaurant and orders a bowl of soup. Shortly after it’s brought to him, he calls the waiter back. He says, “Taste the soup.”
“Is it too hot, Sir?”
“Taste the soup.”
“Is it too cold?”
“Taste the soup.”
“Is it too spicy?”
“Taste the soup!”
“Is it too bland?”
“Taste the soup!!”
“Oh, all right; I’ll taste the soup. Uh…where’s the spoon?”
“A-HA!”
Next…

Also: If you’re at all curious about the sound that the croaker makes, YouTube has the answer. Just search there under sound of the croaker fish.

I hear the parents of last year’s baby crawl competition used a dog shock collar to encourage the kid.

And the artist Fish (former lead singer of Marillion) has recently released his album Weltschmerz. And it’s probably his best solo album ever.
