No indication they have met this secret informer unless the police station is in the same building , like the way local and sheriffs, the jail and court rooms were all in the same new at the time, Justice Center when I first moved here.
Have they met this DUI guy(?) and who is Sam getting help from unless maybe it is Lee or Lizz. Maybe that “help” will be an official paper that allows them to steam roller over Alex on “another visit to 1312 Bedwell”.
They finally have some grounds to ask for a search warrant, but first, a possibly useful lead waits for them in the station. After all the complaining in the message board, it seems that Sam has finally realized the need for backup. Maybe he reads our comments!
Here we go — Tracy’s ready to go back to 1312 Bedwell and this time he’s not taking “no” for an answer. Is Sam going to assemble a drugs-centric backup team from Vice, SVU-style help for Peggy Bellum, or both?
I agree with those who think our DUI cooperator is Pouch, but what exactly will he tell Tracy? Deals get made with whoever talks first, but Pouch also needs to get the Famous Blue Balloon to his client or else prison time might be the least of his worries!
Pouch, DUI? Have we ever seen him drive? Even though he’s about to miss a very important deadline, I’m still not sure this is enough for him to seek help from Dick Tracy!
I see Tracyville has had some of the white stuff many of us across the country have had lately. Who cleaned Tracy’s driveway and sidewalks? Most of the time it seems like he’s never home? Makes me wonder how he found the time to create Bonnie and Joe.
Real cool outfits on the guys , as always . Everything is just drawn perfect , the hats and coats , to say nothing about Sams ! RED ! Tie just a great script . I just wish that some of the old characters would slip in from time to time . Like Daisy , is he still in the pit ? and Yeti .
1-SAM: Hey Tracy, is the POLIO GARAGE where people with polio are supposed to park or is it where they park people with polio? DT: You’re an idiot.
2-DT: I think I’ll knock off now that we solved the case of your missing brother. Looks like that weird movie, INCEPTION, is playing here. Wanna see it with me?
3-SAM: Sure! You get the tickets and I’ll get the popcorn, soda and Milk Duds!
DT:Suckaaa! All that will cost twice the amount of tickets. EXTRA BUTTER!
SAM: On the popcorn, Duds or both? Be more specific! DT: You’re an idiot.
Sam means he’ll go down to the Cartoon Characters’ Home and see what kind of talent is on the bench today. Maybe Tracy can team up with Oaky Doaks, or Smokey Stover!
Auntie Bellum spends all her time in a room with creature comforts. Aquarius probably has power of attorney to deal with business matters. He might have bought his aunt a 75 inch big screen UHD television so she can watch: soap operas, game shows, Judge Judy and Fox News, CNN and MSNBC.
“I get us some help”…is this a “new year’s resolution”? Unseen silent bubble over Sam’s head…yep at our age we don’t need to be “free styling” no more. Going into situations with no back up just ain’t healthy.
All of the comments above (including that of tsull2121) are probably true for the modern form and context of the Tracy strip – but, where are the action scenes? As i write this I see a scene in my imagination from the classic days where Tracy had a gang trapped in a hideout on a snowy hill…gun shots were exchanged by at least Tracy and a few police (and the gang shouting emphatically} in military looking high boots and clad in what seemed to be motorcycle riding pants, jackets and hats – the combatants partially concealed by vegetation and police cars. The characters’ figures were smaller and surrounded by a setting materially adding to the mystique. The scenes oozed activity and (to be repetitive) ACTION!! The recent strips show people standing, sitting (as though cutout figures), at most walking down stairs or standing in a park. Oh! Well! I am probably just jaded to the point that nothing would be sufficient. You fellows seem to enjoy the camaraderie of the other readers and that keeps you returning each day, rather than the strip itself. I have not seen Tracy in any of the (few) major papers in my area. Like many classic characters of popular entertainment, Tracy has been eclipsed by those of blockbuster movies and he is known only by a set of die hard enthusiasts. I wonder how many young adults know that Dick Tracy even exists(ed)? The newspapers show little respect for the classic strips. I see Prince Valiant cramped in about a fifth of a page, the printing blurred to the point of almost unrecognizable. Or, (I am whispering this politically incorrect comment) – as your mind becomes increasingly integrated over time it takes more to excite you. Feel free to shoot derisive comments, I will be lost in the distance and well out of range.
All right! The cops are finally acting detective-y and following protocol by getting the back-up they need for a warranted visit to The 1312, thanks to Sam. Sam is really shining these last few days!
