Let’s go see how Auntie Bellum is doing. Well, we can see if Cheesecake doesn’t succeed with her plan on how to get Peggy out of there. Otherwise, they may be checking on an empty house — or a house with Pouch searching for his lost balloon.
Far too many components to this story. I give team Tracy an A for attempting something different than the usual hole filled story but this is ridiculous. And there’s a very good chance we’ll still get the normal train wreck of an ending.
There won’t be a sister Sarah Bellum, because it’s a Power Puffs character.
“Sarah” can also be spelled Sara, so there is hope that little gag can get on here. I suspect we are seeing the entirety of the Bellum family as it relates to this tale.
What surprises await Team Tracy when they arrive ? If Pouch moves quickly he could be gone by the time they get there and so it increases his chances of not doing hard time and thus be back in the park for next time he gets called up to appear in some upcoming crime drama.
When I first floated the probability that Tracy’s pointed questions for Tim Wildman were setting the stage for a wellness check in order to gain legal entry, I never thought that several other nefarious plot strands would have already converged at 1312 Bedwell. When Tracy, Han, and the team arrive there will no shortage of “exigent circumstances” necessitating a thorough search of every room in the house: Has anyone in one of the bedrooms succumbed to the “gas” fumes? Does that sound like somebody trying to beat down the root cellar door — from the inside? Hey, Sam, doesn’t that gas repairman look a lot like Pouch? Ms. Cheesecake, your eyes look a little glassy — are you under the influence?…
I realized late yesterday that I was so fixed on the real estate lines that I missed the clues – for them to look at the newspaper and connect Dollar Bill to Alex means Alex must have had a history involving drug use or sales. Maybe he was high when he was driving and the car accident took place – but daddy covered it up.
Tracy, of course, is flat out lying. They don’t care about Ms Bellum. They are not really interested in the wellness check – you don’t send two detectives and two uniformed officers for an initial check (only if there is a very hostile first refusal by the person being asked to introduce you to his/her family member you are there for the wellness check on does the second attempt at wellness check have a police escort of that size). This is a fishing expedition, pure and simple, with Ms. Han as the excuse the police are using to get inside the commune.
I was under the impression most juristictions call it DFCS, usually pronounced “deefacs”. Even Google corrects me when I try to search for DCFS…but Tracy’s city is odd in more ways than this.
hopefully theyll get there in time to watch the house explode..but also hopefully tiger lilly escapes before then.. ah who am i kidding..i dont care who dies as long as its this story!
oh by the way.. i have the THREE antagonists all set for my “TROUBLE IN PARADISE?” story im writing… im just not sure which state to set the story in…could it be Hawaii and Tracy stumbles onto it, or could it be tracy’s hometown now that he is out of the picture for two weeks (story time.) im leaning more towards tracy’s city..and if the “reviews" like this one as much as ”DIAMONDS ARE A GIRL’S BEST FRIEND" then maybe there will be something for tracy to do during his vacation besides sightseeing :)
1-SAM: Hey Tracy, Meet my mail order bride from China, Su Lee.
2-DT: Nice to meet you, Su Lee. Ummm, do you speakee the englee?
SU LEE: Better than you, racist.
3-DT: I apologize. Let me make up for it. Come along while we serve a warrant on a suspected drug house. There’s sure to be gunfire and other violence.
SU LEE: Well, I might as well get acclimated to American Culture. Let’s go!
Geez, now the comments are getting worse. Seems like writers are more focused on what and when the “guessed” at something. Didn’t know this was a contest.
At last the Wellness Check team—Ms. Han of DCFS and Tracy and Sam from the MCU plus two uniformed cops (one female, important to a situation where the focus is on a female, Auntie Bellum)—is off to see the wizard (or something like that). Of course, Tracy leaves it unspoken that his and the MCU’s interests extend beyond the scope of the Wellness Check. Be that as it may, the imminent presence of The Man at The 1312 is crucial….
Ms. Han is drawn “normal” does that mean that the team is honouring a real person, possibly a local social worker? And also is there suppose to be a question mark at the end of her dialogue in P2?
This would have made a great Sunday strip, with two panels added at the end showing Tracy & crew arriving at the commune with Pouch breaking in, Cheesecake running out with Auntie Bellum, & Tiger Lilly breaking out of the basement. A Gouldian cliffhanger!

Someone we should know? Probably not.
The ruse is a “wellness check.”
After yesterday, my fear was maybe a week of talking heads on the new angle introduced yesterday. Hopefully, back to the action tomorrow.
