The tension is leaving me BREATHLESS!! Elvis means to catch him a leprechaun…..it is funny when the wee creature utters Merciful Heavens as he RUNS from Elvis! Right under the door……
Pucky, the leprechaun threatened the Kids. Elvis is a mite protective of young folks, as you discovered yourself once upon a kittenhood. Let the defender cat defend!
And Goldie, looks more like Puck threw off Elvis’ aim, allowing the leprechaun to run under the door.
Man, Elvis has certainly taken a severe dislike to the little green intruder. Hopefully the Boy or Girl opens the door now to let Elvis continue to establish order in the household. Elvis reminds me of a blue point Siamese my mom had who would act like that anytime he saw any of the little lizards that are quite popular here in Central Florida: green anoles, brown anoles, skinks, and geckos. My cats will stalk them on occasion but not with the determination of that Siamese just like Elvis chasing the leprechaun.
Puck looks so cute in panel 2, looking down at the leprechaun and holding the mic at its level. Panel 3 is plain awesome once you “see” Elvis’s eye and arched eyebrow!
Happy BCN Origination Day!!!!! On this day in 2014, the first BCN web comic (“Everything is broken”) was posted.
(Note: On GoComics, if you go back to the start, it will send you back to an alleged January 1, 2010 strip. This is a coding error by GoComics. The strip did not exist in 2010 and the “bacon strip” that is shown actually comes from April 2, 2017. But I digress…)
Georgia’s first self-published BCN strip was posted on March 12, 2014. Since then, BCN has gone from being a web comic on its own page, to being part of the GoComics line-up (in October of 2014), to being a daily newspaper strip (in 2017)—and it has now generated four books, multiple calendars, decorative pins, and a wide range of wonderful items (such as mugs, cards, t-shirts and magnets) available for purchase on Zazzle.
(By the way: if any Orbster has the know-how to edit Wikipedia, the BCN entry on Wikipedia is in need of serious updating. It only mentions the first book. But I digress…again…)
Georgia Dunn wrote a blog post back in October 2017, describing the momentous night before the very first strip was posted. See:
It is well worth a read (although, if you are a big softie like me, you will want to have the tissues handy). It is scary to think how close we all came to never getting to meet Elvis, Puck, Lupin & the rest of the gang.
But let’s not dwell on that. Instead, this is a day for celebration: Seven Years of BCN!!!! Here is to 50 more!
I like how this strip shows the different personalities of Puck and Elvis, Puck going for the interview to get the whole story and Elvis just jumping in in protective mode.
The cats have one important job as residents of the Pink House. Love and protect their humans, particularly the little ones. I can feel Mr Kitty’s ghost sitting on the back of my chair as he shakes his head in disgust at this kitty failure. His disdain when those mice are allowed to scamper around the humans’ food and stuff is the stuff of legend.
Yup, the vile raccoons are after the leprechauns’ gold. Someone should tell them leprechauns are too smart. They don’t just hand over the gold just because you trap them. They’ll promise to tak you to where it’s buried and then they’ll pull a fast one on you and you’ll never find it.

I think Elvis might know 4 warrior women who can also slip under that door. What would be scarier to the kids—one leprechaun or 4 mice?

Okay, not what I expected. =O Certainly an interesting twist. =3

Elvis-Anum: For the last time, I don’t have your gold!
Duffy: That’s what they all say. Now I’m gonna take everything off your shelves until I find it.
Elvis-Anum: Get down from there. Fine, I’m coming to get you!
Duffy: Ha! Duffy O’Doyle can outclimb any Meese! Now prepare to watch all your inks and pens fall to the floor…OOF!
WHAP!!

Well, you can tell by his brogue & wee green socks
He’s a leprechaun, no time to talk
Magical as unicorns
They’ve loved their gold since they were born
And now it’s all right, it’s okay if
Elvis can look the other way
Pucky tries to understand
Fairy traps’ effect on this tiny man
Whether you’re a prankster or whether you’re a gangster
You’re stayin’ alive, stayin’ alive
Feel the door breakin’ and everybody shakin’
And we’re stayin’ alive, stayin’ alive
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin’ alive, stayin’ alive
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin’ alive
Well now, we look low and we look high to
Find his pot o’gold, we really try
Got the wings of fairies on his shoes
He’s a spry li’l man and cranky, too
You know it’s all right, it’s okay
He’ll live to see another day
We can try to understand but
He’s an angry, scary man
Whether you’re bratty or whether you’re catty
You’re stayin’ alive, stayin’ alive
Hear the kids shriekin’ and everybody freakin’
And we’re stayin’ alive, stayin’ alive
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin’ alive, stayin’ alive
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin’ alive (ohh)
