Are there twice as many kangaroos (in Australia) as humans (in Australia), or twice as many kangaroos (in general) as humans (in Australia)? Is there even a big enough difference between those two numbers to care about it?
Because, blue water was more expensive, and they were on a budget. So they filled the lake with the cheaper, pink water, which was on close-out. BELIEVE IT, OR DON’T!
There’s a funny story about how the word “kangaroo” came to the English language.
A European saw the animal bounding. Pointing, he asked an Australian Aborigine “What is that animal called?” The Aborigine responded “kangaroo”. But, “kanagroo” means “I don’t understand [what you said].”
When I heard that story, I repeated it for about 5 years before finding out it isn’t true. “Kanagroo” really was the name of the animal the European saw in the Aborigine’s language. But, the European generalized, and used the name for animals of several similar species.
I just looked up the global kangaroo population, and I’m afraid it’s not so clear: The current estimate is between 25 million and 50 million. The Australian human population is a little more than 25 million.

Estimated that millions of animals died in the horrible fires last year, so this may no longer be true.
