Fun fact I’ve told before: Bats are more closely related to whales and horses than to rodents. Keep that in mind if anyone ever calls them “flying rats”.
It’s still paper, even though it’s not made from wood fibers. It wouldn’t be cloth unless the fibers were spun into thread or yarn, and then woven or knitted or something like that.

The thing about so-called “paper” money should be obvious to anyone who’s ever eaten a US bank note.

Anyone who has accidentally washed bills knows this. The number of bills with cocaine traces is not insignificant.

Just because the paper is made from linen and cotton does not mean it’s not paper. It’s just not wood-based.

Kareem has many other achievements, but this one centers on his sports record. Stereotypes still take first place it seems.
US money may not be made of paper, but its value is less than the cost of the ingredients, due to inflation. A kind of curious reversal.
Bats are mammals, but their populations seems to be diminishing due to the actions of their human relatives. A forecast for our own future.

And many non-mammals are of the Spalding variety.

Wood pulp papermaking on a large scale was developed in the 1840s. Prior to that, almost all paper was made from rags such as hemp, linen and cotton.

It’s hard to believe that bats are 20% of the mammal world when there are so many pigs, cows, dogs and cats!

And humans “make up” the other nearly 80%…which is why it all makes so little sense.

My father was a photographer. When assembling wedding albums he told me that the finest quality paper is actually made from rags!
