Pretty soon, most of the top athletes will be born in the 21st century.

That’s what I love about these baseball players. I get older, but they stay the same age.

It is disturbing that athletes over 30 are considered “over the hill”.

When Nolan Ryan was playing, I could say that there was a professional athlete that was older than me. Then he retired.

What’s really scary is having a doctor younger than your favorite sweater.

They’re just all a bunch of darn zoomers!

My grief is how the great rock icons of the 70-80’s look/ are getting older and older, while maintaining a blind spot to the man in the mirror.

Way ahead of you, Rat. I made that decision long ago.

I haven’t watched sports in a while. How are the Brooklyn Dodgers doing these days?

When I think of baseball stars, I think of players like: Micky Mantle and Yogi Berra, Roberto Clemente and Willie Stargell, Bob Gibson and Lou Brock, Frank Robinson and Brooks Robinson

You could switch to beer-belly-sports, such as Darts or maybe Snooker.

What gets me is when I see children wearing uniforms, i.e. police, military.

That’s a sign of a new generation of baseball players.

Imagine how depressing it would be to be a sports writer….

Watching sports is a waste of time anyway.

I was the 100th person to like this strip today!

I still remember the first time I saw a police officer that was noticeably younger than I was. It wasn’t the last time…

I’m that way watching the local news. I swear, several of the reporters look like they’re still in high school — and they dress like high schoolers whose parents didn’t teach them how to dress properly.

The cold, hard, truth of reality

Sports people, doctors, police officers, firefighters…they all look like children to me.

It ain’t just sports.

It didn’t bother me so much that the players look so young, but when the coaches and officials started looking generations younger than me, I had to admit that I was getting a bit long in the tooth.

I still remember the day I realized I was older than the Rams’ starting quarterback. Not a good day.

I tell it like it is. But I will admit, it is crazy watching people like Drew Brees and Philip Rivers retire (players I have been watching for a decade) and watching kids like Joe Burrow and Justin Herbert kick butt.

I’m getting so old the policemen look like Boy Scouts !

it really hurt a few years ago when “Trey” Griffey was with the Pittsburgh Steelers (briefly).he is the son of Ken Griffey Jr. and the GRANDSON of Ken Griffey Sr., who I grew up watching (Sr. played from 1973 to 1991, give or take)

I don’t mind the children in uniform, it’s the geezers at the high school reunion that bother me.

I don’t really watch sports on TV either anyway.

Good thing Rat wasn’t ogling women at the beach.

Ive mostly given up watching sports. It was just too aggravating. More relaxed now. Got rid of all news before that.

A beard meant you had grown too old to shave yourself safely.

Of course the average life span of a rat is 2 years…

An athlete who’s considered “over the hill” by 30 can switch careers to politics and be a “fresh new face” for at least a decade.

One of the time-warping things about teaching was the kids were always the same age… course they were different kids but, in any event, it made my own aging a real surprise.

I decided that when the Milwaukee Braves left town.

At least I am still comfortably younger than the major-party candidates for president in the last election.

It is a little jarring to see pro-hockey players that were born in this century.

The managers look too young.

I stopped watching most professional sports 20 years ago and unfortunately college basketball is going that way was well……

I remember when pro football players were older than me. Then all of a sudden they were the same age as me. Then all of a sudden they were younger than me. Time flies.

First Cops, then Doctors, but yeah those 12 year old pitchers bug me.

There are plenty of reasons for not watching pro sports anymore. Rat’s is just least among them….

These days I wonder why my old High School is filled with children.

I’m still dealing with the players I saw as rookies managing teams.
