Heart of the City by Steenz for July 15, 2021

Probably easier than trying to figure out if they like Coke or Pepsi.

There is only one brand of ginger ale — Detroit’s own Vernors.

Buffalo Rock. It bites back. Sinus clearing. Visible flecks of ginger. Kicky, zesty, spicy. Unabashedly Southern. Lingers on the tongue. A great mixer that gives character to a Moscow Mule or a Dark and Stormy Night.

So many ginger ales are timid, unassertive, sweet sodas.

That’s funny. Heart didn’t strike me as a master of first impressions the first time I saw her in this strip.

At the BBQ: “Who the heck brought all this ginger ale and why don’t we have anything else to drink?”

Fever-Tree makes an excellent ginger ale. At $5.99 for a 4-pack of 7 oz. bottles, it had better be.

That is so cool! I wish I could do impressions.

This may have something more to do with regional soda distribution, but when I went to Walt Disney World, all the soda fountains had both Diet Coke and Coke Zero. I mean, really? They couldn’t have given that precious slot to a root beer or something?

I was lucky to have gone there while Club Cool was still open, dispensing free international sodas.

I always knew Heart was a bit flighty, but I never would have expected her to serve flights of ginger ale!

So what’s going on? I’m taking a vacation, and I’m really confused about the arc for this week.

Think this BBQ needs a few bottles of Big Red.

When Heart says, “Trust me on this,” that’s when you need to look out below!
